I'm Back to do a DC character Now. And this time I am Doing Batman's butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Backstory: Alfred serves as Batman’s (and Bruce Wayne's) tireless butler, assistant, confidant, and surrogate father figure. In modern interpretations, this has gone to the point where Alfred was Bruce's legal guardian following the death of his parents. He has sometimes been called "Batman's batman." Alfred also provides comic relief, as his sometimes sarcastic and cynical attitude often adds humor to dialogue occurring between himself and Batman. Alfred is a vital part of the Batman mythos, and appears in most other media adaptations of the character. Who is the best voice of Alfred? Yes Including Michael Caine. He is the best live action Alfred Yet. Behind The Voice Actors - Characters - Voice Of Alfred Pennyworth Efrem Zimbalist Jr.-The DC Animated universe Clive Revill-The First 3 episodes of Batman The Aniamted Series James Garrett-Batman: The Brave and the Bold Alastair Duncan-The Batman Jeff Bennett-Young Justice, Batman Year One Jim Piddock-Batman Under The Red Hood Alan Oppenheimer-Superman/Batman: Public Enemies David McCallum-Batman Gotham Knight
I really like Alastair Duncan's Alfred in The Batman, possibly my favorite character from that show. But I also liked Efrem Zimbalist Jr.'s Alfred. As for the other Alfreds in the DCAU, their presence has been very minimal and I can't really remember any memorable Alfred performances.
Maybe the question should be, "Which actor's voice do your hear for Alfred in your head when you read your Batman comics?"
When referring to "voices", it will always be "Movies and Television" ... thus, thread moved to the appropriate section.
Milton James or Alan Oppenheimer. next series should have Alan Oppenheimer as the gun holding Alfred, Steven Blum as batman, and Lia Sargent as the ninja girl. come onn you all want to see it!
I don't expect anyone to agree, but I thought he was horribly miscast. Incredible actor, absolutely first rate, ... but a cockney butler? Really? Maybe it doesn't seem as incongruous to Americans, but I found it at odds with their efforts at authenticity.
