I don't know where this figure comes from. He looks pretty good what's the story on this one?
Optimus Primal places Optimus Prime's spark inside himself while Rhinox repairs Prime's damaged body. Optimus Primal's transmetal body grows and changes to compensate for having 2 sparks. This of course all occurred in Beast Wars.
edit: For more details check here
Even after he returned the spark, he still remaind Optimal Optimus.
in the Beast Wars TOY Universe, he was a Maximal Commander who was exposed to a "Nebulous Entity" I think that was the word they used, and he gained great strencth as well as 4 different modes, Gorilla, Jet, Tank, and Robot.
In the Beast Wars TV SHOW Universe, he was the product of Optimus Primal, G1 Optimus PRIME, and The Matrix all merging together into a good old gigantic Maximal/Autobot Leader.
This body was also used as Primal Prime(the same body, but in traditional Optimus Prime colours) in Primevil Dawn, and Megatron used the Optimal Optimus body as his final body in Beast Machines.
Long story short, he's a big ass Optimus Primal.
two people beat me to it, maybe I should have made my reply shorter...
I always laugh when I see questions like this, because I think, "What are you kidding? Everyone knows that!: Then I remember that this occured almost a decade ago...
sort of, but in fact, Primal Prime was made using Quickstrike controller wich was left over on the ark after the crew left for Cyberttron
Just to add a comment about the toy...aside from a couple small setbacks (most noticibly, the lack of anywhere to put the gorrilla head in thr toy's robot mode) it's a great toy...it's much bigger than I thought it was going to be, and if articulation earns points for you, it has great articulation too.
Primal Prime is in G1 Prime colors, FYI.
I've got both Primal Prime and Optimal Optimus. He's an awsome mold but the Primal Prime colors are just awsome and he's the cooler looking version. Primal Prime was alot harder to find too when they came out, at least around here.
The gorilla head goes inside the chest and the wheel come out and split and folds up to its back in robot mode.
But this is a great figure, one of my all time favs.
This was a good post for me, even though I have been here awhile I know next to nothing about BW or BM. I have a KO of Optimus Primal that I never touch cause he is so fragile. I may have to find a cheap one to replace it so I can fiddle around with him, seems like a nice enough figure.
he's all red and blue, but the deco isn't very PRIME. he's a color swap of OpOp so the head has all sorts of red and blue and silver all over instead of just a blue helmet and silver face as many Primes before him...
I love both of my Op Op's...I still need a Primal Prime
Primal Prime is currently a wallet raper on eBay. Damn sellers and their Transfan torturing.
Heheh I was thinking the exact same thing... then reading this post made me realize why that IS a valid question now. (Still... there's NO excuse for not seeing Beast Wars
Derp! My bad,I thought the wheels were supposed to go into the chest...thats what I get for not looking for instructions after buying it on ebay...thanks for the tip!
No prob, glad i was able to make a little differnece
how does Megs become Optimal???
He just copies the schematics for Optimal's body in the second to last episode of Beast Machines and has one of his factories produce it for his disembodied spark. It's Optimal's body, but with no beast mode and Megatron's face.
In BM Megatron had a number of different bodies, he had his BW Dragon Body, then his spark left his body and he became a Maximal Wolf/Dragon named Savage Noble, and he was a giant floating megatron head that turned into a space ship, as well as a technical drone, and I few others I think. He was seriously getting a new body every few episodes in the second season. For his last body he chose to build a replica of the Optimal Optimus bady, sans the gorilla mode.
