I'm in the process of making one, and was wondering what the interest would be here.

    Details:
    • Description of each character/toy with a brief bio.
    • Detailed pics of all modes and parts layout. (Kind of like Bellomo's book)
    • Price range for MIB samples.
    • Color printed on high quality paper, and spiral bounded with plastic cover and back.
    • Would sell for about 20$ + shipping. (I'm not planning on making a profit, so the price might be less)

    Please vote and comment...

    Sure thing dude :thumb

The Generations book is awesome. But I was left wanting an English version with a clear layout of all the parts. That's where this project stems from really :)

Interesting.. Mind scanning a few pages and posting them here?
I did a few searches and I'm figuring it's been out of print for a long time...
Did he have clear layout pics of all the accessories for each toy?
I might have to track it down for my own collection.

My wallet is pleased at that, but not at the prospect of the number of Japanese TFs I'd buy as a result. You should have seen the display of Japanese G1 at this year's Auto Assembly!

yes,the book is huge,it's got tons of huge clear pics.

it has pics of all the accesories & super rare items. even rare proto type pics.

the book had a hundred+pages. it's too big to scan pics of the whole book.

if your looking for a few particular (3-4) scanned pages I can do that. but I can't/won't scan the whole book as it'll take days/hours to do it. it just too time costly/consuming.

That's why I asked for just a few pages..
The one your talking about doesn't seem to be easily accessible. I'll keep going with mine. Anyways, I'm having to much fun putting it together :D

I'd take some samples out of the Alvarez book now, but I'm just off to bed. I'll do a few tomorrow if Tigermegatron hasn't.

I've got the Masterforce section open, the pics vary between just in box, out of box, one or more modes. There aren't any paperwork pics, and the accessories aren't in seperate ID pics.

It is a nice book, really nice pics, but it's not comprehensive. In the Masterforce section there are a few missing i.e. no Con Pretenders, Carb is only shown in box.

since rik alvarez is a actual member here on these forums. I don't want to upset the guy by illegially taking scans from his book & posting them on the internet.

Actually, there's another person you should contact before starting your version. I actually heard this first hand from a reliable friend and source.

Doug Dlin who did the unofficial Cybertronian guided was in the process of producing one. He has volume books for g1 1984 cars all the way up the actionmasters. Rumor has it has had the draft of all the japanese G1 stuff done but then something happened. I don't think I can legally say what happened but it's worth contacting him about it.

Here's the link to the first book: Amazon.com: Cybertronian: Unofficial Transformers Guide Pocket Manga #1 (Cybertronian: The Unofficial Transformers Recognition Guide) (9780982225387): Doug Dlin, Harold Tietjens: Books

Think all G1 collectors should have this series of books. Has a lot of random bits of information.

    Thanks guys :)
I think I'm going to make one for myself on purely a pleasure basis. And if a few TF-friends want any, I'll make them some too. I'm not looking to make something big or "official" here.
I'm kind of McGyvering this thing together
