While new leader-class toys for Universe would be awesome, I'm leaning towards Ultra being the highest size class Universe goes to, with the exception of the Unicron TRU exclusive re-issue in the Supreme class. ROTF will no doubt give us leader class toys, hopefully a better Megatron figure, too. His first movie Leader toy is the only movie 'con with screen time I DON'T ever want to get.

Meh..I thought the original movie Megatron was horrible, but I think the Premium fixes alot, only by having an accurate paintjob. I quite love him, even if the alt mode is all kinds of bonkers :) ...

anyway, drifting off-topic. You are right in that Leader class are probably preserved for ROTF, also I think Universe is slightly more aimed at the more hardcore fans, so I doubt a Leader class would sell very well to the masses.

I wouldn't mind C. Metroplex repainted as Devastator (maybe with a new head)... He's pretty much a devastation machine.

for the sake of avoiding shelf-warmingness I don't think a universe leader would work. Already see Dropshots and Blasters cloggin a bit and some larger ones I think would be better left to Animated and the movie.

Well if you look at the bigger picture the Universe figures of the larger classes that are warming the shelfs are all the REPAINTS, yes they are cheap to produce but not many people want em. Maybe if hasbro took the little bit of time and made just a new head sculpt for these they would probably sell alot better. Personally I don't want a Blaster that is literally a straight repaint of Soundwave Lame sauce, give him a new head and I'll be all over it. I know its not super cost effective but they would sell more if they did that IMO

Can't say I'd want them. Leader figures rarely take advantage of their size, so I'm happy capping the Universe line at Ultra. Hell, I'd settle for Voyager. Electronics can go stuff themselves.

I feel pretty much the same. I'd only be interested in leader-class or larger for characters that are defined by their size, such as Unicron, city-bots, combiners, and the like.

I don't even find the Ultra class figures to be worth buying. Certainly not Onslaught & Silverbolt. So it'd have to really suit the character for me to go for a Leader class figure. Like an Omega Supreme or something.

Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with Deluxes and the occasional Voyager.

I already got one, the repack of Galaxy Force Prime via Costco.

In all seriousness though I wouldn't mind, but I don't see them happening any time in the near future.

In their Q&A at the TFClub, Hasbro said plainly that Leader-class figures were not in the cards for Universe.

Seems they're only budgeted for about three Leader molds a year...and I wouldn't be surprised if that number went down.

I'm more than happy with having Masterpiece figures fill the spaces that the non-existent Universe Leader figures left open.

I really don't want anything larger than an Ultra in Universe. And I hope they limit the Ultras to characters that make sense.

In other words, not like Powerglide.

While I'd like to see leader figures as part of universe I don't think they'll ever make them. At best Universe is a filler line and at worst it's a second option line. There really isn't room for leader class figures in it because they sell so slowly.

Ultra is large enough. There are only a few characters that would warrant a large character. Just because you can make them bigger, doesn't mean you should.
