"It seems that even the most revolting of all Optimus' soldiers want an end worthy of an Autobot" is now one of my favourite lines in all of Transformers. Pure genius.
It seems... pointless. Ironhide's death served the scene's purpose well enough, and the Twins are mired in so much controversy that killing them off so graphically would start all kinds of shit storms. Again.
I wouldn't. I'm glad The Twins were only shown in vehicle mode in the movie (briefly), and didn't end up dying.
1) closure on the characters 2) they die as heroes.. I also think this scene really shows just how cruel and pathetic Sentinel is.
Me. It would not only kinda redeem the Twins for being extremely annoying in ROTF at sometimes (though not so much for me, I kinda liked them), but it would also give a good reason for them to disappear. I mean, they were just GONE now. Just like Jolt and (at least one of) the Arcee sisters. You could argue that Arcee (all 3 sisters) got killed in ROTF and that Jolt was killed in between movies because of it being in the comics. But the Twins survived ROTF and the comics, so by that logic they should've been in the movie. Having Sentinel kill them off in the movie would've been a perfect ending for them. If it were for me, I would've liked to see Jolt return as well, just to have him killed by Sentinel, too. Sentinel killing Ironhide, Skids, Mudflap AND Jolt would have shown how big of a threat he actually was. Shooting Ironhide in the back didn't really show that. And not to mention that it would've had an even bigger impact on the audience, who would never expect 4 Autobots to die in only a couple of minutes. Especially when 3 of them were fairly important characters throughout the previous movies. Oh well, too bad.
