I could have sworn there was a bike thread around here somewhere, but search turns up nothing so I'm starting a new one. Partially to brag myself, but mostly to see all those sweet rides the rest of you have. I know I'm not the only one here. How's about a loose set of rules? 1. Two wheels. (Sidecars acceptable. Trikes also acceptable.) 2. Motorized. That should be loose enough to cover everybody, right? Got a little scooter? Post it up. Got a big chromed out Harley? You too. Since I'm kicking it off, I'll go first. Mrs. Night Flame has spent countless hours over the past few years asking me when I'm going to get a motorcycle. We both love them, I've just always had a lot of other things going on that prevented me from really going after one. I used to ride my uncle's bikes all over the place on the back country roads, so I knew I liked cycling, I just didn't put much effort into getting one for myself. Due to a certain monetary windfall recently, we finally picked one up. Here she is on the trailer we brought her home on: (The Escalade and trailer belong to a kind relative.) Parked with an appropriate background for my state: Me and the Mrs. getting ready for a test flight, doing our best to take up four car spaces with a motorcycle: Worry not, there will be safety gear before we hit the road with it. Parking lot rides at 15 MPH seemed safe without. See those smiles? Those haven't gone away yet. It's a 2008 Suzuki C90T Boulevard Tour bike. Only thing not stock on it is the luggage rack hanging off the tail, which the dealer was kind enough to toss on for free along with a nice thick cover for her to sleep under in the winter. Had 1/10th of a mile on her when we picked her up from running from the shop to where we parked the trailer. Officially, the "newest" vehicle I've ever even been around, built from the shipping crate on Thursday after I requested it. So, everybody else, post up your rides. If it's got two wheels and a motor, chances are I like it. And even if I don't, someone else around here probably does.
Will be, as soon as Im saved up. Not getting no crotch rocket, may get some kind of LOUD-ass Harley, my gift for all the hip hoppers & rappers around here. I live in a black area , so it'll be fun. And dont play the racist card either, many of them are my buds, but I wont convert. It'll be nice to drown out all those cars with the loud muffled bass rattling everything. Not joining no biker crew though, some of those butchy harley chicks scare me. I got to put up with all the rap (even in Spanish) all damn day, now now It's my turn to crank up some Slayer & Obituary Need to grow my dreds back and get a few more tats first Used to ride dirt bikes alot, I miss my green yamaha. Almost bought a Triumph, but mom talked me out of it
That's a gorgeous bike. I want to get one too. My Dad had a Yamaha V-Star, it was so pretty. I was bummed when he sold it.
I rode almost 20 years ago and gave up not long after due to a severe lack of riding skill. I don't even have a picture left, but this is what I had; Kawasaki GPX250R
Nothing wrong with scooters, provided you're good at riding it. Post up pics! Thanks for the compliments on the ride folks. You think she looks good? You should see how she rides. All signed up for my safety courses and licensing tests now. August 22nd I should be legal and I'll finally get to take her out and stretch her legs. That's going to be a tough wait, but ultimately I think worthwhile to do it right. Awesome looking bike Syd. It's too bad you couldn't acquire the skills necessary to keep riding. Sometimes I really wish everyone had a farm at their disposal for learning all these little life skills I just take for granted.
Nice ride. I myself have been in the market for one. Ive been eyeing the Honda Shadow VLX and Nighthawks.
Nice on the checker pattern. I'm debating if I should put some custom work into mine or leave it for the helmets. I like painting quite a bit, but really like how smooth everything looks on mine right now.
That scooter looks great! I've never ridden one, though, can't imagine riding with my feet together, I'll probably fall. Sounds like you'll be riding far away in 2 weeks and a bit, hope you'll have lots of great time As for my skills, I don't know. I probably wasn't born with one, and I loved that bike
Awesome. Gotta hurry up and get the first six hundred miles in so it can go in for its first inspection and service. Any particular part of motorcycles give you trouble? Like, shifting, braking, cornering? Or just troubles all around? I ask because sometimes you can improve skills just by finding a nice big open area to practice in and then setting up soft obstacles to try and work around. Like a crack in the pavement marks where you have to stop by or a line drawn in a parking lot marks where you have to make the corner.
I used to have a little 250 Ninja to zip around on, really liked that bike. It was nice, light, very forgiving of mistakes, and I could fling it around really easy. And even though it's considered a girl's bike (with the crowd who thinks learning to ride on a 600 Sport Bike is smart, and it's not BTW) it's faster/quicker than most sports cars. But since my wife wanted to start riding with me, but not learn how to ride herself. I bought a Suzuki M50... which I absolutely love. Much more comfortable than the 250 but not nearly as nimble since the M50 is sport cruiser. I may get a Yamaha R-6 at some point, but I'll never get rid of my M50. Here's a pic of an M-50, mine is Metallic Blue/Purple http://www.suzukicycles.com/products/M50K7 I really need to get a Deception sticker for it.
