I was just wondering out of curiosity if there was anyone else here on the boards who has a Class A CDL and can (or has in the past) drive a big rig. I know of Insane Galvatron and myself, but are there any others? Let's see if there's any fellow Optimus Prime pilots out there!
I used to have a class A and drive over the road, but had to give it up due to increasing eye problems. Bad depth perception made the backing up a problem.
I can fully understand that. My depth perception sucks, but thankfully I seem to manage. Another thing that's going against me is my diabetes. Right now I'm with Type 2, but if I ever become Type 1 then I automatically lose my CDL due to being prone to blackouts. Any road stories or "stupid 4-wheeler" stories for us?
I still maintain my CDL, but it's been about 3 years since I've been in a truck. Decided watching my kids grow up was more important than the good paychecks. Drove a W900L. Miss it on occasion. I think DESTO drives, too. Stay safe out there guys.
Wow, those are nice trucks, all I get to drive here lately is a crappy GMC single-axle. Soon I'll be off this route and I can start driving bulk more. Most of those trucks are International 9400's I believe. A step up from what I'm driving now, but most of them are junk in our fleet. One of them has a transmission that whines loudly as you go down the road over 45mph, another has no A/C. Eh, well, I don't see my Pepsi company going and buying Peterbilts any time soon. :/
