Hi! I am wondering who people like better! Fort Max, or his younger brother Grand Maximus. Vote now and comment why!

 

Fortress.

I will almost always prefer a character from the original mythology (G1) over a bastardized offshoot continuity (JG1).

Ironically, some of my big exceptions to that rule are in Masterforce.

But not Grand. I didn't like the idea that suddenly, robots could have "younger brothers" as an explanation for a repaint.

 

Fort Max because of IDW.

 

Grand Maximus didn't get any real characterisation so Fortress Maximus. But as a toy, Brave Maximus looks the best of the mold to me.

 

While I agree, I wouldn't call it "sudden" that robots have brothers, what with Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

But yeah, Fort Max all the way. Brave Max looked the best, though.

 

Fortress Maximus because of IDW. It would be interesting though to see if Grand gets referenced in IDW, even if only for a cameo as one of the Metro-Titans.

 

This. Brave Max is the only Fort Max I currently own. And he definitely looks the best.

I don't know much about Grand Maximus and I hate IDW Fort Max.

But I like Headmasters anime Fortress Maximus.

 

Their both pretty cool, but if I had to choose between one or the other.

I chose Grand Maximus for a simple but interesting reason there was a mold change that I aided with and no it was not the face plate or the sword both were present in variations of Titans Return variations, it's something else.

Well in the star tv dub of masterforce they are both the same guy!

 

I voted Fort, but I would have picked Brave. It's the one Max I own (haven't gotten the TR ones) and I just like the colors better. The Dark blue and yellow lights make it look like a small city.

 

Just curious, why do you hate IDW Fortress Maximus?

Same here. I loved his portrayal all the way through the Marvel comics. From the war weary commander to his advisory dynamic with Galen to his binary bonding with Spike.

Shame Regeneration completely ruined Spike's character.

Nothing against Brave. I just don't know the character so I figured better the Titan I know.

I still have to get a Fortress Maximus toy but I can never decide whether to go G1 or Titans Return. TR Fort Max would obviously have better articulation but I prefer the G1 base mode and the fact that Universe Megabolt can turn into a head which can attach to the Headmaster body.

 

I did love the battle weary leader and the Titans Return cartoon was along those lines thou they could of done better. IDW ya I guess they wanted a reason why Fort Max was not around and they ended up just putting the poor guy thru the ringer, granted he did have some moments where he pulled thru still his side of the story was dropped short and he could of held a better role and been presented in a better fashion.

 

Well at least in the Titans Return cartoon, he was voiced by Worf from Star Trek.

Though after seeing a great fanmade video by a chap called Draven, I always imagine him sounding like Sean Connery. And it suits him.

 

Not sure how that Sean Connery voice would work kinda like Bay's Hot Rod voice all over again. Still i picked Grand becasue of the toy and i had something to do with a mold change that happened.

 

What is this mold change?
