Other than Optimus Prime because he gets revived, I saw these guys die - Jetfire Ravage Arcee Alice The Fallen Sideways Devastator anyone else? I'm sure Megatron survived this time but I'm quite sure.
I'm not sure that Arcee actualy died..her and the purple bike were both shot but there was no shot of someone saying they were dead. The blackout clone copter definatly, died prime ripped his head in two. Rampage looked pretty dead too..both arms ripped off and head 99% detached. but then as this movie proved with these bots and a little energon, dead doesn't mean dead Spoiler (even for fleshy meatbag types that will insist on running round like a little baby shout "NO!" every five minutes)
People seem to want transformers to die, but don't like it when they actually do because often it is done in a meaningless way. Personally, I never cared for lethal force when it comes to TFs simply because they are sentient beings and not drones. While robot-killing is pretty much OK in hollywood and video games, I still kinda dislike seeing TFs being wasted for no particular reason in the stories. Even if it is at war, Not all decepticons are pure evil and it does seem like you could attempt to subdue or incapacitate your ancient robots of a dying race instead of just wasting them. While the Sideswipe scene looks cool, I am kinda curious what Sideways did to justify being brutally sliced in half to death, especially if he was appearing to be 'fleeing'. I would Hope Prime's Autobots have a sense of Mercy in them if possible.
I kinda agree with you there nkelsch. Yes this is a war but to me it just seems harsh to see BB rip out Ravage's spine and Sideswipe cutting a con in half.
I agree totally with your post and that sums up my number one gripe with the movie. It lacks the TF sentient being feel because of this. It would be identically similar if a person in the army instead of subduing or using a single fatal shot to stop an aggressor decided to disembowel them instead as their method to stop them. Its just violence over sensationalized for the emotionally impotent out there. every death Bay does is the same its quick and meaningless, the true sign of horrible direction. Not every death can be 100% drawn out but why even bring in a character just to kill him unless your only purpose is to piss off people.
Everything happened so quickly, it was hard to keep track of characters sometimes. I'm sure there was a generic black Decepticon (he didn't look like any Transformer I know of) who had his head decapitated, I think he was slumped on the floor with his head in his lap.
I thought he was more silver, and he was grasping to feel for his head for a moment before just slumping dead too
If i see that prick bay id hand his arse to him i was looking fowered to a good film and left somwhat disapointed as he kills of too many cons in the most shitty way I actually enjoyed seeing Prime as a badass All hail Megatron
I dunno... I don't know if it would have ruined the movie to simply have TFs go into 'Stasis lock'. Then Megatron would have been the only TF to die as his Spark was extinguished from merging with the allspark, the rest coulda just suffered damage and forced their body into stasis lock. Then they could have put the sparks in prison like the combaticons in g1. They can then waste transformers all day long because unless they explicitly destroy the spark, the TFs can be gathered up and contained by the Military. They could have still disposed of the bodies and most of the plot the same way. Right now the only deaths that sound like they 'shoulda' happened were: *Megs TF1 *Prime ROTF Midmovie (revived by the matrix) *Jetfire ROTF (his spark gives out during the battle or something like a heart attack) Everyone else just didn't really need to happen for me. Maybe people would have thought Stasis lock was to sanitized or kiddie. I just don't care for killing TFs because they seem to have a history of being durable and survivable to be a civilization of millions of years.
the arcees just got shot that's all, ironhide looked more dead to me than arcee, with the whole flaming-hole-in-his-chest-in-the-middle-of-an-airstrike thing..
the autobots are more evil then the decepticons lol Decepticons are just trying to save their home world, while the autobots come out and brutally slay them all
