Just a curiosity poll to see who actually buys new tfs (across all lines) in the stores. Would be nice to see some numbers for once.

I should have put an age thing on it. I had meant adults buying for themselves.

ok, i am at the age of going from child to adult (turned 19 in december)

for years, i was strictly store, it wasn't until this past august i really started buying online, now, i would perfer to buy in store, cause a lot of my collection is more impulse buys for me, with online, i debate too much and i pass up and miss out(looking at you SDCC blaster)

though with such a shitty distribution, i have been forced to resort to online

From your poll it says if you buy new or loose. But now you want to know if adults go to stores and buy for themselves?

Anyhoo... I buy at stores with no shame. And I buy new stuff all the time.

    Poll is missing multiple options.

Anyhoo, by the time new TFs are released into stores, I have usually had them for weeks if not months after buying them online. When you live in the UK, you can't run the risk of something not getting a mass retail release so I just buy everything online and ask questions later.

The only figures I will be getting at retail is the DotM stuff, as it will be clearanced to heck and back eventually and I can pick up a lot of cheap looking figures at cheap prices!

    I live in the UK.

Until the RTS line, there were almost no new Transformers in my local stores. Sainsburys (supermarket) carried one or two HFTD figures; TRU still had the TFA line; Argos...well, Argos is bloody useless, so let's not go there. Aside a few Legends figures in WH Smiths, that was it for my area. Fortunately I was still a new TF fan during this time period, so I just settled on collecting TFA and movie-line figures from stores, and ordering CHUG/G1 figures from websites. (Or buying them from eBay). Recently though, I've bought RTS Bumblebee, G2 Prime, Wreck-Gar, Windcharger, Grappel, Stafe, Lugnut, WFC Bumblebee, Megatron and Optimus Prime from shops. And the UK will be receiving some Generations figures, apparently, so I'll probably pick those up. :x

tl;dr the UK usually sucks for store-bought figures but recently it has been awesome.

    Yeah! You most definitely can!!!

They're usually all the ones you don't want (peg-warmers)........

Same here....at least with online shopping you can save on gas.

Where I am there's no decent internet shopping (anyone fancy risking shipping to Bolivia? I wouldn't :p ) so I have two options for buying TFs:

    1. Pick up whatever is on the shelves either here or when I go travelling
    2. Have something delivered to my parents' house in the UK just before I go to see them or they come over to see me.

I r super jealous of all of you and your internets :(

I used to, then the retailers decided to play "let's not stock anything until May 16th" so I've gone almost completely online. I still check brick-and-mortar, just not as frequently.

Because I don't care. I want to know who purchases them new at the store. I threw in second hand (which can be deemed vintage) so people don't think they have to vote even if they don't buy new. Second hand would indeed be loose.

The whole thing is to see how many adults buy new toys at the store for themselves to get a rough idea of the number.

I bought in the stores for whatever I could find. The last relevant toys I found were Wreck Gar, Perceptor, G2 Prime and BB all which I picked up. I found a Kup, and had to get my four Scourges from local collectors or internet. Wheeljack and Warpath were likewise from the internet.

If you buy them in the store then you click yes you buy them in the store. If you never buy them in the store and just get older figures click the vintage/second hand.

If you buy them only online then you can either not click any or click the vintage/second hand. Personally I don't care who buys online at this point. I am curious as to actual store buyers.

I'm a teenager, and I'm pretty open to buying toys. I've probably gained a reputation at my local Target for being able to help clueless parents get their child a decent toy.
