didn't have the money at the time, but how many were not able to get him when he was avaliable. i contacted TFCC they said they wouldn't be making anymore but if they had damaged ones or returns they would let me know...so who missed out?

Same here, I am hoping someone will want to part with their Over-Run, otherwise Runamuck is gonna be all by himself

I didn't try. I would've liked Runaboverrun, but I'm not a huge fanof the Wheeljack/Tracks mold, and I'd rather be satisfied with Runamuck than shell out just to get the prettier off-black version.

Would have liked both, but after previous and recent posts about credit card issues, didn't want to take a chance.

It was sold out long before the CC issues happened.

Good luck to all of you who missed, hopefully for everyone's sake it works out like Ramjet last year where there seem to bave been a few too many speculators who bought extras.

The good news is you'll be able to buy it on the secondary market, pay with paypal and not have to worry about credit card fraud.
To be fair to Fun Pub, they did announce the time frame for ordering MONTHS in advance, and the toy sold out way before the CC scam hit.

I wouldn't be so sure. I was hit the day after I renewed last month. Luckily the new card was here by the time Runabout went up.

It's not a PayPal thing. It's their website security. I keep hearing people bitch about PayPal not being accepted, Amazon doesn't take PayPal and they're the worlds largest online retailer. You don't need PayPal to be successful.

Actually there was a thread around the middle of January where people were already getting hit. I was one of them and maybe one of the first to suggest the problem was with the TFCC, so maybe he saw that.

The problem didn't escalate and get much attention until the influx of new cards ran through the TFCC system and everyone started getting hit.

lets just say i had the money in my paypal account and it didn't transfer over in time to my bank account in order to get over-run in time.

though personally thanks to all this CC shit, no club membership after this year for me unless they do take paypal

There's a big difference between Amazon and TFCC. Amazon has fantastic security and if they have a major problem, they will not hesitate to email their members to let them know what is happening.

TFCC on the other hand, has terrible security and a website ripped straight out of the 90's, and, as the recent credit card issue has shown, will only email members about a problem AFTER people complain about them not doing the right thing, and even then, the email has very little information and purposely moves the blame from them to the consumer.

You can trust a company like Amazon with your credit card. You can't trust a company the TFCC with your credit card.

Well for a lot of people they will find an alternative in paying rather than their primary credit or debit cards. They take checks and money orders, but thats just as unsecured as giving your card number to them.

Back to the subject. I think there are a lot more people that was not able to get an Over-Run due to their life outside of collecting. If I wasn't sick, I can guarantee I will not be able to get one on my own due to work blocking TFW2005 and signal is bad so I can't order on my phone.

Good point. I was about to add something similar to what you have written, but it's 3:30AM here. IMHO FP got hacked. Not their CC processing company. They used cheap security systems for their network, they paid the price at our expense.

Credit card security shouldn't be such an issue. Discover allows the generation of a one-time-use-only credit card number that can't be stolen and used again. I would hope that other companies do the same.
