I always wondered, I´m sure some pople around here don´t like the movie, but I´m sure they still end up buying the toys for some reason, either because they like the designs, the character or for some other reason.

If you buy the toys and don´t like/care for the movie, why do you buy the toys?

With me I never saw both new movies, nor do I plan too. I'm not a TF diehard fan, I mainly go for the beast transformers. Since the movie line had a few, thoses are the ones I got. So far I havent got any of the vehicle transformers from the line.

I dont dislike the movies, I'm just burn out seeing alot of vehicle transformers all the time.

    ME !

I like/love the designs. I like the 1st movie of 2007 but I didn't buy the toys at that moment because imo the engineering was not up to par.

Come 2009 with ROTF ; the toys have improved and so I bought them and enjoy them incredibly, but I was quite disappointed with the actual movie.

Me too! Although the movies leave much to be desired, the toylines for both have been simply excellent. I've bought more toys from ROTf than any other TF line so far, except maybe Beast Wars. These movies have been kind of liked a mixed blessing, I suppose.

I love them all. They are some of the most accurate off-screen incarnations of our beloved characters we've seen so far.

    That's me alright.

I just think they're good toys. I waited years for realistic alt-modes to make a comeback, and that's another reason I got into movie toys. I don't like some of the designs, but I often like how the toys simplify them. I don't think they're great designs, but I've a huge appreciation for HasTak's ability to translate all that cluttered complexity into workable toys.

I got into them a lot deeper than I'd originally intended, because back in 2007 deluxe Brawl and Barricade really impressed me. I thought I'd just sample the line, but I was soon hungry for more.

Me 100%. Nearly all of the movie figures I have are almost perfect.

    Nearly. *Stares at The Fallen*

Really not into the look of what you might call the pure movie toys that have a look like the robots in the film.

Now the hybrid figures I actually like those because there is just something about the mix of old and new that works on those that doesn't work for me with the movie look. So something like Wreckage and Bludgeon are oh cool I want one of those but something like Bumblebee is a pass.

Loved movie 1 and I do like the movie designs - not as a replacement but as a variation of Transformers. Even though I greatly disliked movie 2 didn't stop me from getting the toys for their designs (although I must be honest: I've doubted for a second if I wanted to collect this line..and I've not bought a couple of figures based on their characters in the movie).

Of course, they are made of plastic. :p

As for me, I am only in it for the toys. The movie aesthetic has grown on me. Hell, I'm planning on getting all Voyager Blackout repaints and remolds, since I love the toy so much.

I have incredibly mixed feelings on ROTF (the film) on the whole, but the toyline is great.

i love the movies, but i'm in it for the toys alright. movie line is currently my main line of collection, and probably will be for a long time. Universe and animated were always just sidelines, even when the first movie craze died down before the second one. of course, i did get one or two cybertron figs throughout collecting, but movie line kicks ass, no questions ask.
