I'm just askin' to be askin'--- which TFTM figure you think will sell the most?
I'm gonna say Prime.
Not sure which class, but it's gonna be Prime.
Optimus Prime because he is always one of the most popular and available and stores. Voyager Class Prime instead Leader Class because parents of young fans would chose the cheaper more affordable version. I personally like Ultimate BB but few consumers will be willing and able to pay $90 for an action figure.
- Voyager Prime
- Deluxe Bumblebee
optimus prime for the simple fact that it's optimus prime.
i think that kids (majority of market) may gravitate towards bumblebee.
I was thinking the same thing.
Yeah, I'm betting Prime and Bumblebee.
Hands down. Optimus. He works on many levels. He is definitely going to be a huge hit with the kiddies, partly (shudders) because he has the flames (hey, when you were five you probably though 90s-a-rific flames were cool too). For the fans he is probably the most reminiscent of his G1 self, has a intricate and creative transformation, and is easily the biggest must have name of any line.
Worst seller: Megatron. What did they remold Cybertron Menasor to make this crap. He practically lies on his stomach to complete his transformation. And whats worse, some moron at Hasblow decided he needed giant, cumbersome, eyesores in the form of ice blocks. He looks like someone sneezed on him.
Could go either way: Starscream. Okay Starscream, we'll have to see. The movie will probably be the teller. Starscream, for all intents and purposes has a horrid design FOR Starscream. However if he were called Apeface fans might not mind as much, meaning his design actually has some dramatically good qualities. Number one, he is scary as sin...but not in a "what the hell did that guy barf up" kind of scary but a "freddy kruger" kind of scary. Not that this fits Starscream at all, it doesn't. But for a Decepticon mercenary, stalker, hunter tracker who takes on the form of a jet this form actually works really well. It looks like one of those great scary anime characters. So the fact is they could sell this figure to the general public, and depending on how good his portrayal is in the film...possibly...the fans as well. Starscream may in fact surpass Megatron in terms of fan favoritism. But the figure and design has received a lot of slack, some of it warranted. But I can see it being turned on it's head.
Absolutely Voyager Prime.
The price is right, the size is right, the robot looks cool, even if he weren't Optimus, the truck is pretty bad-ass and the character is a must-have as others have said. All around, he has the potential to be a big hit.
Every kid will want to be Optimus Prime this summer, and what is the next best thing? Owning the toy.
I can't wait for this stuff.
i definitely think that Prime will be the biggest seller, but BB will be a close second, because all the kids who see the movie will want him in some form or another.
for collectors, especially G1 fans, i think blackout will be #1, because he's the most liked design statistically (lol, based on a poll i did).
I'm throwing in '08 Deluxe Bumblebee. With the hype of the new Camaro along with it being affordable, it's a good bet for the auto enthusiasts.
But who knows. Whatever is shortpacked.
My money is on Voyager Prime.
Are their any pics of the Voyager Prime? Starthing to rethink about buying the Leader Prime on June 2nd now.
Prime easily. He's the most iconic and doesn't look like a bug in bot mode.
I can already picture kids wantin that big rig optimus prime blaster
BUMBLEBEE probably, maybe the deluxe. He's the "human/robot bridge" in the movie and one that kids will possibly relate to the most.
If not him then Leader OPTIMUS (if he isn't too expensive for the young 'uns): That cool truck mode, large & chunky robot with lights & sounds... a surefire winner!
When I was five I thought 70s-a-riffic flames were cool, as the 90s were still ten years away.
I think Leader Class Optimus Prime.
Yeah, was scratching my head at the other comment. Flames were the rage in the 60s too, with hot rods and such. Heck, they still are amongst the mod community.
