Startrek will no doubt be a good film but I predict that Transformers 2 will blow it out of the water.

Revenge of the Fallen. It has more mainstream appeal; almost everyone I know will probably see this when it comes out. Star Trek still bares the Trekkie/nerd stigma. It'll also have some mainstream appeal to make a good chunk of money, but it won't pull in the cash RotF will.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Star Trek. I grew up with Star Trek and it's a lot more known that Transformers. Now now, don't everyone bite my head off. Hear me out first. We are talking about a TV show that changed NASA, a replica is in the Smithsonian,(I think I spelled it wrong). Heck some will say that today's cellphones are directly from Star Trek. Very very popluar although, playing devils advocate, the last few ST movies have bombed so some have jumped off the wagon. I love Transformers but still have a big spot in my heart for being a Trekkie.....
    Just my 2cents.....

Even though Star Trek is huge i personally think ROTF will blow it away in overall sales and appeal. In my eyes "NOTHING" tops Transformers in any aspect, granted its my opinion but i think ROTF will come out the victor. I dont think anything is going to touch Revenge for a loonnnggggg time.

I think it will be close . . . .but TF2 will take it. Star Trek looks to be put together way better than Wolverine and Terminator. I think its the only movie to provide any competition to Revenge.

Star Trek films don't seem to do extremely well box office wise. They make anywhere from $42 million to $109 million in the US. Transformers did $300 million. I think it's a no brainer that TF2 will do better than Trek. Though I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the highest grossing Trek film.

plus RotF has well known actors, i think in Star Trek we have newcomers. So, only having Shia and Megan will make TFs bigger in box office.

    ROTF

You don't have to be a TF fan to enjoy big robots fighting, Megan Fox and explosions. It's a typical summer hollywood action flick. Star Trek is not. Star Trek is for fans and fans alone. ROTF will bring in kids, fans, 20-30 year old males, couples, car buffs. Parents taking their kids. Much more diverse.

Transformers by a mile. Not only will it make more, but i think it will make as much as twice as much as Star Trek. Star Trek is pretty much strictly for males, and mostly older males. The first Transformers was very much a family film, and this will be too for the most part. Transformers in general is just a much easier sell, and anyone who saw the first one is going to see this one. The first one made over 300 mil. I can see Transformers making 350 mil at the box office, and Star Trek ending with no more than 200 mil, but 150 sounds more realistic.
