Probably Optimus. Wish they had done seekers in the line.

I'd say go for Optimus. Good robot mode, good alt-mode. Involved transformation without being crazy complex.

I only have Megatron and Soundwave, but they're both great figures and highly recommended. I'd probably give the edge to Soundwave though because it's the closest thing you can get to a Classics version of him right now.

Optimus represents the design very well, plus he is a great toy with two great modes and even a nice bit of customization potential with the multiple peg holes for weapons.

Megatron is a great toy, but is rather simple and has strange articulation issues. BB/CJ is still a cool mold, but it's pretty crazy complex and pretty inaccurate to the in-game model. Soundwave is a mixed bag; some people like it, some people don't.

I hear Optimus is supposed to be fantastic...

I just have Bumblebee and Soundwave. Soundwave is pretty cool. Posable, fun, and simple. Bumblebee is definitely the more detailed figure, but he's a bit too complex for my tastes. He's very posable, but his backpack kinda ruins the robot mode.

Optimus is my current favorite and the figure that started me buying Transformers lately.
Soundwave is my second fav as that representation is just spectacular especially with a pair of Thuggers (see the sig for pictures).
Megatron is a solid figure as well though I agree that he is strangely articulated. Still a good toy though.
Bee and Cliff though I don't care for. Actually I should say Bee since I never bought Cliff because I don't like that mold much.

They're all pretty neat... though TBH I don't care for Bee/Cliff... was soooo incredibly annoying to get them to transform properly. Also a bit tall when you stand them to other WFC bots.

Soundwave is a pretty good bot IMO. Also if you want a CHUG Soundwave, he's the only option. You can also mimic a Boom Box mode for his transformation that looks pretty nifty.

Megs looks quite nice... better than the Classics gun IMO. His arm articulation is a bit funky however, as mentioned. Also the simplest of the bots.

I would toss it up between Optimus or Megatron (btw, all WFC figures except Soundwave are available on HTS, if anyone else is still seeking them). Personally, I give it to Optimus since he has had iffy luck on deluxe figures since the Armada figure. To me, he hits all the right notes for a Cybertronian Optimus Prime.

I'm not sure the OP's financial situation, but Toys R Us will have an exclusive 3 pack of Megatron, Optimus, and Bumblebee coming later this fall with the figures having some new paint apps and some translucent parts worked in to simulate the "bio lights" the game gave the bots.

Soundwave is my favorite, but I'm totally being biased.

My opinion is Soundwave. Plus in my area, he's harder to find at this time. So if you spot him, I'd get him while you can.

Optimus and Soundwave are great figures, but if picking just one, I'd recommend Megatron. He looks not just evil, but also noble (to me!)

I have to say Megatron. Best proportions over all, solid alt mode overall, and the best appearance to his game model. Optimus and Bumblebee come next, and Soundwave is the weakest in my book.
