That's Vehicle Voltron. he's compsed of 15 vehicles used for exploratio npurposes. I can't remember the cartoon origin but the DDP comic had it created to be a personal Voltron Force. I'll re-read it and let you know.

    But yes, it is Voltron.

    Here's the Voltron break down....

Voltron 1 - "Vehicle Force" AKA Dairugger XV (And by the looks of that box it IS a bootleg...the original box would have a Bandai logo

Voltron 2 - The Matchbox Voltron 2 was the "Gladiator Voltron" AKA Albegas...a neat idea, but the toy is really wonky. Gold plastic syndrome has NOTHING on the problems with some of the old blue plastic...really prone to breakage. Meanwhile the comercial promos for the new (and never aired...but I do have some old videos that have the Daltanius Voltron "Coming soon" promo) Voltron was the GoDaiKin robot Daltanius, an awesome bot that splits into a smaller robot, a jet/tank and a lion.

Voltron 3 was the "Lion Force" AKA GoLion and for some reason was shown 1st. This is the one people think of first when the name Voltron comes up :)  But he was "Voltron 3" for no real apparent reason.

Then there was that 3D version that had Stealth Voltron and the Dino Voltron....but I try to forget those ever existed....

I don't know any foreign languages, but I've got a lot of korean versions of toys to think that that's korean written on that box, which might make it a korean-licensed version of the japanese toy.

No, in Japan that's Dairugger VX, which has its own show separate from GoLion. There's no Japanese Voltron series.

The box printing and design reminds me of the Hong Kong made "Lionbot" packaging. Lionbot was essentially identical to Voltron III, with the addition of a bunch of accessories that didn't come with the U.S. released Voltron III (Lion Voltron).

That 15 in 1 bot pictured is definitely a version of the Dairugger XV bot, the design of which was also used as the U.S. released Voltron I (Vehicle Voltron). I suppose that bot in the picture could be a Korean version as well, but, I can't read the text on the box, so I don't know!

EDIT: Is there a manufacturer's name on the box??

It looks like it could be a HK toy (bottleg or not I don't know). The chinese text on the side says something along the lines of perfect combination.

I remember seeing the Daltanius one in the commercials they where running before the show started. In the spots they showed all three and I always wondered what happened to it.

I never knew about "Gladiator Voltron", it's silly looking.
