For those who have both, is there any version that you feel is better then the other?
I want to get Grimlock, but don't know which to get.
    Does it even matter?

Both are fantastic and essentially the same. I don't "love" the red stripes on the dino legs/robot arms of the hasbro one, but it's not worth worrying about (and is G1 toy accurate).

If you don't mind the slightly rounded off teeth and dino claws of the Hasbro version, that'll most likely be the cheapest one. Plus you get a great crown! :thumbs2:

This. The bright parts are just so much nicer on this one.

Well King Grimlock is very pretty with the silver paint. Though I still like the original TakaraTomy Grimlock better because of the apron and serving tray.

The Hasbro one is the worst of the 3, but is by far the cheapest and is only slightly lesser than the other two (I don't care for the painted stickers much, and I prefer the apron to the crown).

You can't go wrong with any version.

I have hasbro and the king masterpiece versions. I wanted the king version simply because of the comic accurate color scheme. I overpaid for him and after a week or so of having him in on display I swapped him out and put him back in his box because the hasbro one (like the takara one) just seemed to go better with my g1 shelf. I dont have any other comic accurate figures so having the one giant Grimlock just needed to fit better with what I was surrounding him with.

I made my own Ultimate Edition Grimlock by getting the Takara version, the iGear upgrade kit and the crown from the Hasbro version from someone else.

I've seen the Hasbro version in person a few times. If you don't mind the red stripes, it's not essentially the same, though I've read about rounded off teeth, etc. I'd go with the best deal you can find regardless of the make.

I didnt know they rounded the teeth off the hasbro one but I did cut my finger when playing with the king grimlock. I guess if I could go back I would prefer rounded teeth to avoid the blood spill.

I've never seen the Takara or King versions, but the Hasbro version is amazing IMO. Plus, I bought 2 Hasbro versions for much less than the cost of one Takara version, nuff said !

If cost effectiveness is an issue, Hasbro version delivers almost all the toy at a lower price than the other two.

The Apron, tray, Brain tra....eh, whatever it is, i've never taken any of them out of the tray TBH. Whilst it's kind of nice to say you have them, they're almost entirely superfluous.
