In WFC I was playing with the default control, but in the FOC demo, I don't know if it's just me or the controls seems more sensible ? I keep transforming accidently by pushing L3 (ps3). It's pretty annoying, so I think I'm gonna go with the controls that use triangle for transformation, with changing weapons moving to the d-pad. I think the name of this control is Striker.

That's what I use. Got myself killed too many times in the heat of battle by transforming.

If you're having trouble with transforming accidentally, you might want to check out the L3/R3 delay option under "Controls". It makes it so that L3 and R3 controls don't trigger until you hold down the stick for a moment.

I tried some of the other control schemes, but they threw me off too much, so I'm back to the default. I wanted to use the one that switches dash/sprint with transformation to ease transitioning between FoC and MW3 (countless times in WfC I've tried to sprint and wound up transforming), but dash just doesn't work as well for me on the stick as it does on a button.

I gotta try this delayed trigger thing. Numerous times I've been shooting someone and I would dash and transform at the same time

I heard there was a setting that simply put the transform button to square(ps3)/X(360), and the interaction/pickup item button to the up arrow on the D-pad. Might check that out.

I'm gradually training myself to be lighter on the left thumb but every now and then I still "WTF transform"

I had the accidental transforming syndrome in WfC so switched to Y for transforming. Not wanting to have this problem again I switched to striker since I like having movement options on the movement stick (LS) meaning that having dash, sprint and walk all on one stick makes things intuitive for me.

Be careful with the delay, as it will affect your melee attacks as well. I switched the delay off when I realized my close combat was not doing too hot.

I changed it over to the Striker, with Transform mapped to the triangle button. A lot easier to use. I don't remember having this much trouble accidentally transforming in WFC, but it was happening at the most random times.
