Assuming Prime Megs is unmodified, I prefer DOTM Megs.

Me, too. But I prefer that design overall, anyway.

What aesthetic aesthetic are you going for? DotM is probably the better toy, but is going to look weird amongst a bunch of Prime characters.

What's with the threads lately comparing Movie toys to Prime toys?

The only reason I ask, is because they are literally two completely different aesthetics and toy styles, and there's nothing to compare between them besides character name.

Honestly, both are great toys, and you should buy both.

DOTM overall, but Prime has a few nice touches like the brushed steel look.

Basically, if you want a clean, regal Megatron that only transforms as a way to move about faster, get a TFP one.

If you want a more vicious, tortured, scarred, vengeful, conniving version that hides in alt mode just as much as uses it to move fast and prefers not to be recognized too fast, get DOTM.

Indeed. Although I am pretty liberal and find lots of reasons to consider certain Prime and Movie toys to be nice Classics Standins here and there, Mixing them with one another- particularly when it comes to main cast members- strikes me as odd.

But hey, it's not my collection. I prefer Prime Megatron based on looks alone, but I own neither toy.

RTS Tracks will probably make his way into my Prime collection because part of me still sees him & FE Cliffjumper like Hack & Slash...

    They're both Pretty good.

DOTM for the killer alt mode.

RID for a most awesome bot mode.

I'm going with DOTM, because I didn't have to physically modify him to like him.

Exactly this. Prime Megatron's robot mode is big and intimidating. It represents the cartoon version of the character very well and looks like a big bulky bad guy.

DotM Megatron however has the advantage in alt mode. A big (ok, well not toy wise) mean looking oil tanker is the best counterpart to OP's semi mode that I can think of. I honestly hope that the Prime tv series has Megatron take on this alt form at some point, because it's so much cooler than the generic Cybertronian Space Cruiser mode that Megs has now.

Why not both? DOTM Megs is on clearance everywhere and his alt mode is certainly very sweet!

(And this is why I love Cyberverse! Some stuff is still missing like a Voyager Sentinel, HFTD Leader Starscream for better scale, and Shockwave but I'm getting there. XD)

TF Prime Megs looks pretty cool but his lack of paint is a point against him. I'll be taking an airbrush to him as soon as I find the time to crack him open.

IMO, DOTM Megatron is the better figure. Better poseability.
