If you're using true 5-channel surround, it's going to sound better on PS3. 360 discs don't have the capacity that Blue Ray does.

Kickback is looking for an honest opinion so we're offering it. Nobody is lying or covering up anything (well some people are using hyperbole). I am getting both, cause I'm a FF game collector, and yet I want to play it on the 360. So, I'm recommending the inferior version because I have a better setup with the 360, and it's something I think Kickback should take into consideration to. Kickback, the PS3's visuals have the edge, and you don't have to swap discs. There you go, the cards are on the table.

And again, after playing any game, I am numb to the visuals. I never noticed any problems with Mass Effect 2's cinemas, I was just enjoying the experience.

Which system (PS3/360) should I get Final Fantasy XIII for?

Neither, its dreadful.
It reminds me of a cliche hollywood movie, dumb that fucker down so everyone can be entertained.


But if you were going to get it, I say PS3 simply as its a "Final Fantasy" game and they belong on a Sony machine.

 

If a person's opinion of a game's value (despite it receiving good reviews) warranted not purchasing a game, then no one would buy anything (and the gaming industry would crash), as there is probably a few people for every game in this board whose opinion is (that's a shitty game). Kickback likes FF games, so I don't think he is going to agree with not buying a game at all. Silly Rabbit, tricks are for kids.

Also, I heard that battle system was rather complex, which is the opposite of Hollywood in that the old FF's were (fight, magic, items, and run), so if anything, it's taken the fighting mechanics and made them less-basic.

 

I find it weird that the places that have given it good reviews are the ones with their magazines and websites pimped the fuck out with FF13 adverts.....just saying.

Nah, I'm not talking about "The Official PS Magazine"

Game Trailers gave it an 8.6 and Gamespot gave it an 8.5. Not through the roof amazing, but far from bad, and they all talk about the combat system being a lot of fun. I know this won't dethrone 6 and 9 for me, but it might be worth a gander.

 

Gameinformer gave it a 9.25 as well. IGN did a "30 hour in" article where they talked pretty good about it. I know these are big name websites and magazines that get ad revenue, but it's still better then a bunch of negative press. Anyways, shouldn't the discussion shift over to the actual FF13 thread?
