I'm guessing that most of you will just guess, which is fine. I like crunching numbers, so I have an Excel spreadsheet that I update with all of my purchases. It also helps me keep track of my spending.

My first Transformers purchase was on 02/09/2012, so I have roughly been collecting for eight months. Here's the breakdown for stores where I was able to find and buy figures at. Mind you, I try to get each store a chance and don't play favorites. It's just that some stores in my area SUCK for keeping the shelves properly stocked.

    Wal-Mart: 36
    BBTS: 20
    TRU: 14
    Target: 12
    K-Mart: 5
    Robot Kingdom: 2

    Brick & Mortar Stores: 4
    Online Stores: 2

I have one pre-order with BBTS for 8 figures, and will order a case of Cyberverse Legion figures in a couple of weeks that has another 8 figures. So by early November, BBTS' number will be 36. I will also break 100 figures by that time as well. Not actually BREAK them, lol...just pass the 100 mark. :D

So where are you lucky at for finding Transformers? Do you ignore online shopping, or are you strictly online? I did word the title a bit poorly, since one could buy three figures somewhere and spend hundreds of dollars. lol I just assumed that if you buy a lot of figures at one place...you would also spend a lot of money there as well.

BBTS and Target. Hasbro Toy Shop gets a decent amount as well.

Don't keep count on what I get where, but I've got figures from Walmart, Target, TRU, Meijers, BBTS, and Toy Arena this year.

Most of my purchases are from either Walmart (5 stores each within 15min in either direction) or Target (5min away).

However, most of my money easily goes to the import shop I buy all my Takara TFs and Third Party at.

I avoid buying online if possible.

It's usually split about even between BBTS and Robotkingdom.

Looking for new toys locally is a triumph of failure.

BBTS, for the most part. With distribution around here, there's virtually no use looking for toys at brick-and-mortar retail and it's a lot less hassle and stress to just pre-order everything at BBTS and ship every so often when enough piles up. I do occasionally find something at TRU.com, HTS.com or Robot Kingdom and have also found a couple of figures at my local Target. Been a long time since I've found anything I wanted at a physical TRU and I haven't even been in a Wal-Mart for months.

    Thanks for the replies. :)

I was going to add a Poll, but I doubt that I could list every choice available...so I'll just edit my first post with the answers given. If someone posts two choices, then I'll add one to each choice.

How much does your local import shop typically charge for Takara and 3rd Party stuff? Is it comparable to other retailers?

Target, though the more recent purchases have been at TRU and TFSource.

I try to avoid Walmart like the plague.

    Retail would be Wal-Mart.

Though, every post-retail figure I have has come from other board members, which is about 60% of my collection.

TRU due to proximity to my house. That and all the TRU exclusives that have come out recently including the MP's.

Slightly below most online retail, like $5-10 below usually.
