Hey guys, which Springer do you think is best for my CHUG collection? Trying to get some Wreckers in. Do you think the GDO Springer is a good fit? He seems to be the easiest one to get right now.

If you have the money want something a bit more G1ish, I would suggest the FP Warbot Defender. I don't have it, but it looks like a nice update for Springer. Though the GDO Springer isn't bad looking either as I know the Tomahawk mold is great.

GDO Springer will be the easier/least expensive way to go. Warbot Defender is my personal preference though. He's easily the best Springer we've gotten for a Classics collection.

For a modern triple-changing Springer, I'd recommend Warbot. For a non-triple-changing Springer, there's either the Generations or Botcon 2007 versions. I wasn't a fan of the Evac repaint released under the Universe 2.0 banner as I feel Blades was a much better re-purposing of that mold.

hmm i absolutely do not hav the money for FP Defender. i guess i will get GDO Springer and try to get RTS Perceptor somewhere.

What are your thoughts on RTS Perceptor?

Defender is awesome, but if you can't afford him, which I completely understand, then I think GDO is really the only choice. The Universe one is nothing like Springer, and the Botcon one is an even worse Springer (and if you're going to pay that much you might as well get Defender), whereas GDO can be given a car mode with relatively simple mods.

Edit: As for Perceptor, it's not a great mold, and it can be pretty frustrating to transform and pose, but it's not terrible, it looks decent, and it's basically your only choice if you want a Classics Perceptor.

A lot of people don't like RTS Perceptor, but for some strange reason, I love the mold. Mine holds together great, and I think he is a pretty good update. I highly recommend picking up a set of G1 guns to go with him too. He shouldn't be to hard to track down in the B/S/T threads (I have a couple extra), and is a welcome addition to the classics shelf (or shelves as it is becoming).

GDO Springer is surprisingly better than I thought it would be, but in no way will ever replace my Warbot in the classics collection. I put it ahead of the Botcon version and Universe Version, but not even playing the same game as Warbot.

Neat. I knew about flipping the heels and the giant bird feet but placing the guns on the shins to help fill out the lower legs is a nice touch. I'll definitely try that.

FP Warbot Defender is my main Classics Wreckers Springer. GDO Springer will go into my TFP Wreckers display (with RiD Ultra Magnus, Kup, and a few others).

Say what you want, but I actually prefer the Universe 2.0 Springer. I own Warbot Defender and I like it, but for some reason, he just doesn't feel like Springer to me. The Universe one isn't perfect by any means and has one less mode, but its just MHO :2c:

My only problem with RTS perceptor is his backpack. (With how it pegs and all)

I'm afraid I'm going to break it when I attempt to transform it..

My thoughts on that mold are:

    1) It is a good (necessary?) addition to a CHUG collection
    2) I frickin' HATE that mold. The proportions suck, the alt mode is beyond bland and getting into that black alt mode is a serious PITA. It's really just a sucky figure that is just enough like Perceptor to warrant it being in your collection.

Easily the only CHUG I own that I have zero love for.

Edit: Take a look at any pic of G1 Perceptor - THAT G1 "brick" looks a gazillion times better than RTS Perceptor. And I definitely not a Geewunner by any stretch. Plus, my RTS Perceptor will not keep one of his legs extended now, so there's that.

I think you just flip the toes flaps around.
