Norman Osborn. No Norman Osborn, no Dark Reign nonsense and I still might be reading Marvel. Though to be honest I started giving up on Marvel during the Skrull Invasion event.

This, possible dig him and riddle the corpes with gun fire just to make sure. Its going to take a lot to get me to read marvel again after the job he's done on the universe.

Green Goblin and the Clones. I say this because after Norman came back, it was like someone left the door open and after that almost anyone who ever died in a Marvel Comic started coming back to life. While some had decent stories and good explanations(Bucky) most made little sense and bringing them back other than oh cool their back. It also took away the sense that death could be real and lasting in the Marvel Universe. Bucky and Norman were two of the longest running dead characters. They'd been lessons to a generation and their deaths were written in a real and believable way. When they came back many lost the sense that anything was perminate and that magic and deals with the devil were cure alls for any continuity issue. Which lets face it Marvel which used to have better continuity than any other publisher has been playing it loose and wild for the past several years. I honestly don't care about their characters the way I used to.

I did not keep up with how exactly they brought him back BUT i actually quite enjoy the dark avengers. And i like how they play osborn on the brink of going insane again. IDK i think dark reign wasnt all bad.

Good, because "Kraven's Last Hunt" was such a great story, it would be a horrible shame if he were brought back.

Same with Captain Marvel, even though they made it a "time displacement" situation, it still spat in the face of his superb send-off.

    Thread over. Done in one.

But for characters? Osborn and Aunt May.

Okay, technically not a villain, but the first retcon for her was honestly epically dumb, even for a comic book.

Look, Norman Osborn is not Lex Luthor. He never was Lex Luthor. He's never going to be Lex Luthor.

    Deal with it, Marvel.

Fuck. Yes. Death has become something in the MU that is used more as a means to shock than a method to develop character and story.

Yeah, totally defeats the whole point of that Marvel: The End big event series from a few years back where they essentially said, "okay from this point on when somebody dies, they stay dead! Gone! Finito!"

    Ah well.
