Depends what you count as Classics; IDW has solidified the WFC/FOC Soundwave and Buzzsaw designs into the G1 Universe.

I dont put mine in my Classics, but I think it's reasonable to.

I use ML Soundwave. He and Ravage look so good together.  

 

I use the original cause i have 1 from the g1 series.

 

FOC Soundblaster. It's Close enough.

Music Label is also in scale with the seekers

 

FOC. I wish we would get some Classic style Seekers in a voyager size.

For me to accept a 'Classics' Soundwave he would have to be deluxe sized and still have the chest tape gimmick, which is impossible. He'd have to be Voyager sized at least.

Oh well. I'll just have to make do with my Soundwave collection...

I wish Hasbro would make a legit Soundwave already.

 

The FOC is actually pretty neat, a bit tall yes but mine even has a completely functioning gimming with the chest and Laserbeak transforms while Midair after I launch him out of his chest and really gives me that Soundwave feel you know  
The generations voyagers are starting to become more common now so he doesn't stick out too much.

 

I have Sonicron but will likely pass the role of to FOC Soundwave, I'd prefer casseticons over data disk () though. So until I get some decent casseticons for Sonicron I'm promoting FOC Soundwave

 

Me too, G1 is the perfect size for classics. I like WFC SW but he's too small. FOC SW is horrible.

Cybertron Soundwave. My definition of Classics is "updates that still look like a lot like their G1 counterparts without being slavish rehashes", AKA not even close to anyone else's definition.

i use G1 soundwave.. but i'm starting to care less and less about which characters we need proper classics style updates of, and caring more and more about which masterpiece characters are next to get the treatment.

impossible? by gimmick do you mean being able to store a cassette? if so, titanium soundwave was about deluxe sized (which you have in your case) and is able to store a transforming laserbeak in his chest. i don't see how it would be impossible for hasbro to add that gimmick to a deluxe soundwave. plus, classics deluxe's, especially these days are more complex than the titaniums were. i think it'd be easier for them to give a deluxe soundwave an operating chest gimmick than it was for the titanium version

 

I use FOC Soundwave, didn't like the smaller WFC version. Music Label Soundwave is also nice, but overall, I'd prefer my Classics collection to be a modern take of the characters. That's what I like about CHUG. Easy to play with, and pick and choose the characters you like, and skip the rest.

Also, the Masterpiece line handles the G1 look.

 

Literally, like a boss.  

It's still one of my favorite Transformers photos ever.
