With the release of the new gf/cybertron soundwave. My question is which version of soundwave do you prefer. G1 or GF/Cybertron?

I think these two transformers are equally amazing but I'd have to go with g1 soundwave on this one because g1 soundwave was pretty unique tf toywise and characterwise.

Fo the coolness of the character, and the nostalgia of him being one of my first Transformers my parents bought me, I have to go with G1 Soundwave. Of course this may change if I ever find Cyb Soundwave in stores...:banghead:

G1 Soundwave rules them all. Plus he's the only one with cassettes.

Only have the G1 version so far.

Let's wait until "classics" Soundwave images begin to appear, and THEN we'll talk. :)

G1 Soundwave all the way. Nothing beats the original.

Hopefully they'll try to do a remold of his toy for neo/classic line I'd love to see that.

well that's the whole point of the line :)  the question is will he still be a tape player, or a stereo.. I can't see them steering far from this and still be able to stay true to not only the toy, but the character and the purpose of the classics line.

GF/Cybertron Soundwave to me, ever since he first appeared in Cybertron 37/ GF 38, I thought he was total awesomeness, the voice (cybertron version), and the general 'darkness' sort of thing he had going on.

G1 Soundwave is still possibly one of my top 5 Favourite Transformers of all time, but the way he was handled after they got into Headmasters sort of ruined his Character for me.
Then again, that dubbed version of Headmasters got me hating most of anything to do with dubbed tf shows. Until Cybertron Came along.

so Yeah, Thats why I pick Cyb/Gf Soundwave as my preffered Soundwave.

G1 still holds out on top for me. Like come on batteries of death! What toy these days has batteries that are weapons?

I'm gonna go with G1. GF is certainly nice, but G1 had so many cassette kids and GF only has the one. Plus G1 is much easier to TF. :p

Also the name makes more sense with the G1 version. Soundwave and take deck go to gether. Soundwave and a stealth fighter... not so much.

Toywise, I like GF better, but there's also that certain 'X-Factor' that G1 has going (he's one of the few G1 figs that I actually like and want).

But I have a feeling that Classics will blow both of them out of the water. I'm still hoping that he's actually a deluxe-sized fig with all/most of his minions along, and that they are the reason for the Mega pricepoint. That would certainly rock. :rock

G1 all the way but that is mostly because I am an O G 1'er. I have yet to see the Cyberton version but I am very excited about that. Im sure the Cybertron version might be a superior toy because of the 20 years of advancement in technology but G1 has the tapes man.

As per Neo G1 Soundwave which will rock everones word. I can't see it not being a tape deck again and I too hope he is a deluxe that comes with a few tapes to justify the mega price point. Mind you I wouldnt be surprised if he isnt a tape deck because , hey, fuck ups and bad decisions do happen.

    Thanx

Nothing beats the orginal..nothing. I would love to see a cool neo-g1 as long as he is still a radio.

I like the Cybertron version and the G1 version, but since there's no "both" option, I guess Cybertron wins this one.
