I only have enough for one, they're about $20 each. Which should I purchase?

Note: Shockwave is the gray version.

Shockwave is more fun of a toy. Inferno's decent, but he's just kinda... there.

Inferno. It's a high-quality figure. Not just the design, even the materials. I found it very well put together on every level.

I love Animated, but I consider Shockwave one of the weaker efforts. He has 4 modes, but most of them are terrible.

While both are awesome figures, I'd say Shockwave. He's technically two bots (Shockwave and Longarm), so it's a two-for-one deal really. Plus, he's got the huge-ass gun. Plus, he's probably harder to find than Inferno.

Inferno was cleared out at TRU for $10 half a year ago but is impossible to find now.

Shockwave can still be found here and there for $13. I saw one sitting on a shelf at my Walmart last week.

If you have to pay $20 I'd go for whichever line you like better. For me it's Inferno.

To be honest, I am not a huge fan of either of them. IMO, even with 4 modes, Shockwave is one of the weaker Animated figures, and was modeled after a dear (both the head and the floppy-ass legs). He looks like it is his first time standing with those chicken legs. At the same time, Universe Inferno is a bit too boxy for my taste. I would have liked to see a little more effort into streamlining his design so he didn't look square all over. That being said, I have them both, but I am a "classics slut", so I vote for that.

I think at the end of the day, you need to look yourself in the mirror and decide if you are a "classics slut" or an "animated whore", that should make the decision a lot easier.

Gotta go with Inferno. I'm a snobby guy who usually takes off points if a mold doesn't have proper articulation (like Classics Jetfire... looks cool, but the mold is a big letdown in my book). Inferno's hip articulation is pretty restricted, but I still give the guy full marks. He's a beautiful mold. His vehicle mode is brilliantly detailed, and I usually couldn't care less about alt modes. His bot has a really great look to it, it says "G1 upgraded" better than almost any non-Alternator mold does. It's bulky and boxy, but not in a bad way... more like in a big bruiser way. He's just really cool. And honestly, I don't even know anything about Inferno as a character, but the mold still sells itself.

I love both of them, I can't decide which. Buy one now, then buy the other later.

Inferno, in my opinion, is the best mold to come from Universe 2.0. Shockwave, as awesome as he is, isn't as great as Inferno.

Inferno. Animated toys, like the show, are a travesty.

Find a way to get them both. They are very different toys to compare.

Shockwave is a much better toy, but Inferno is will be more difficult to get ahold of in the future. Get Inferno now and pick up Shockwave later.

    This is true!

Shockwave is a truly excellent toy. Inferno is good but rather bland. There's nothing wrong with him but there's nothing that great about him.
