    Yo!
In the 80s I owned a robot that was similar to Megatron.
It transformed almost the same, but the head was black and no helmet as Megatron.
Does anybody know who it was?
It was silver and feet were black.
It definitively was no Megatron, my mom threw it away I guess as it was broken...
Sorry for not having any pics...

I dunno... he may be better proportioned, and doesn't have the weird jutting triggercrotch, but Megatron has a more sinister and villanous face sculpt. Not to mention, Megatron turns into a Nazi handgun, which gives him some extra evil cred right there. And this guy lacks the trademark giant arm cannon, which gives Megatron a lot of character.

I'm happy with the Megs we got... silly G1 toy and all. :)

Anyway, sorry, I don't really have anything on-topic to contribute about the mystery gunbot.... :p

I agree with Benzo, it was probably a pre-TF Browning.
The only problem with having that mold for Megatron is that it is very tiny - he'd have a hard time being an imposing villain, because he would have been smaller than all the Decepticons apart from the tapes and Reflector.
I also agree with the comment about the arm cannon making Megatron's look. It's one of the most memorable things about him, and it's always noticeable by its absence when a design passes on it.

While I love Browning, I think the people responsible for the start of the franchise wisely chose P-38 as Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons. Let me tell you, when I got Megatron, way back in '93, I was stupified. It was just beautiful, and his robot mode wasn't stupid looking to me. The only thing that bugged me, was that you couldn't rotate the barrel behind his back, like in the cartoon. His scrawny legs didin't bother me, because I was 13 and I could clearly see that they couldn't make the robot that size transform into a 95% replica gun (a year earlier my dad gave me his guns&rifles and airplane encyclopedias so I knew what p-38 looks like) without some comprimise.

Does that not put any stress on the area? You can almost do it on the WST Megs, which is all I have right now, but it's a little scary.

Not if you are careful, and once it's back there, there isn't any stress.

Sorry, it's not 90 degrees up. I can't accept substitutes. Besides barrel being on side is also awesome.

or perhaps Rumble is Blue/Red. :lol

P.S. I figured out the back gun mode so many years ago, I don't remember when I first did it!

Browning - he's is based on a Browning M1910 semi-automatic blowback pistol of the type used to assassinate Franz Ferdinand.

It's variant 1910/1922, a larger model with a longer barrel, slide extension, and a longer grip frame to accommodate an extra round, was the official sidearm of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenian (later renamed into Kingdom of Yugoslavia).

So there was Megatron, Browning, Shockwave, Galvatron, Sixshot, and Quickswitch. Now I am basing this on the idea that you can hold the TF as a gun, not if it can transform to a gun, cause there is too many to list for Targetmasters guns and also the Seacons can all become a gun except the leader.
