Which of his both deaths is more tragic, Transformers Animated or TF:TM? I think TF:TM Prowl is more tragic as he gets shot by Scavenger and gets melted from inside as flames come out of his mouth and his eyes turning green before he goes offline and falls down.

 

Animated. It mattered, he wasn't just shot by a random constructicon.

Animated, definitely. I never cared for G1 Prowl at all; I never understood the hype behind him. Nothing he did was that memorable. Animated Prowl's death was meaningful to the fiction. G1 Prowl's death was 2 SELL MOAR TOYS

G1 Prowl's death wasn't tragic it was just really fuckin' creepy.

 

But see, getting pointlessly killed by a random mook just to clear the way for new toys is more of a tragedy than having an actual story reason!

 

Animated. He actually sacrificed himself for a noble costs, now gunned-down senselessly for shock value and clearing out old toys.

 

Yeah that was kind of weird.

Scavenger's gun must have the power to cook Transformers from the inside.

 

The G1 movie death really didn't impact me at all, Animated Prowl's death did. It was like having BW "Code of Hero" playing in my mind and seeing Dinobot and Prowl being in the same spot. Doing what it took to prevent loss of life at the cost of their own.

 

Choosing to sacrifice yourself is no more tragic than getting gunned down. In fact, I'd say it's less tragic.

 

Animated was more tragic, but G1 was more screwed up. The guy gets shot in the chest and fire comes out of his mouth. That, is screwed up.

 

Well I honestly cannot remember what G1 Prowl ever did. However I wouldn't say that Animated Prowl died tragically, seen as he died for a cause. I would say G1 Prowl's death was more tragic because I don't know his character and he was killed off for more interesting toys, I mean characters.

It's bad enough to die a meaningless death... but to be killed by Scavenger?? That really IS tragic!

Animated Prowl had 42 episodes of awful banter.

Thank God the days of the entire site leaping to flog anyone who said anything negative about that show are over.

 

Prowl getting killed by Scavenger of all bots is tragic in a completely different way.

That's like getting offed by the office ******.

 

I have to go with G1 on this. Not that I like G1 Prowl all that much (he was barely even a character), but I always found Animated Prowl to be the one part of the show that I didn't love. Especially in season 3 when he wouldn't shut up about "processor over matter" and became a walking plot device. I was actually glad he died and would've been happy to watch a fourth season with Jazz filling his spot on the team.
