I had a quick question about the Masterpiece Prime pertaining too which one you ll think I should get.

Now I already have the Toys R Us edition of Prime from a couple years ago and he is amazing and is the only TF I bring to college with me, and just everyone who sees him justs basks in his glory.

    However....

I've noticed that through the couple of years of being the TF that isn't on the shelve there's been some wear and tear. His leg vents stopped woking like a month after I got him for no reason. The paint on his legs in some corners is comming off a bit as well as his upper torso area.

So I thought it would be nice to get anther one to put on my shelf and look all cool next to MP Megs and why not have it be a real MP Prime. But do I want the MP 01 or 04, cause the perfect edition looked pretty sick, but from the picturs the trailer was much more bland then I expected and it made me hesitate a little. Is it really worth it forking over that much just for a trailer to a TF who probably is never going to be desplayed in truck form??

If anyone has some insight it would be great!!

Chances are, it will be cheaper for you to get an MP-04, especially with the reissue coming up, than an MP-01. I haven't seen a MISB MP-01 for less than $300 in a long time. A used, MIB MP-01 can be had for less than a MISB MP-04 if you're lucky and find a deal on ebay or Junkions; they pop up every other month or so.

    Used, MIB MP-01: ~$150
    MISB MP-04: ~$200
    MISB MP-01: $300+

The original Hasbro MP Prime and DVD MP Prime can be had for ~$100 and under, but I presume you're not interested in those.

Personally, if I had to pick only one to display and planned to keep him in bot mode, I'd go with the 20th Anniversary Prime (you can always find replacement stacks if you want longer stacks instead of the shorter ones). MP-04 Prime for $200.00 is well worth it, but I'd only get it if you want to display him in truck mode, otherwise what's the point of having the trailer? Now if you have the money, you could always get them both. :)

I have both, just for the reason I stated. My 20th Anniversary is in bot mode and I display MP-04 in truck mode. I don't care for the robot and repair bay mode, just doesn't appeal to me (maybe if I spent the $45 for the reprolabels to sticker up the interior of the trailer it might grow on me, otherwise the trailer in repair bay mode is just too bland).

I personally love it the way it is and think it's a perfect fit for my collection display.

Check eBay, that's where I got mine. Just do a search for Masterpiece Prime and see if any come up. I've seen both plastic and metal long stacks run by on there, usually $5-$8 for a set.
