Two awesome  bay) figures have been the center of a lot of discussion (and praise) recently. Coincidentally, they're based around the same character:

-Animated Ultra Magnus

-City Commander

I'm wondering about the general opinion about which is better.

I have both, and I think City Commander is better. It just looks more like G1 Magnus, and Animated Magnus's shoulders look a bit wierd when they're moved up or down.

Still, Animated Magnus is a really good figure, too.

He does a pretty good job of being awesome... all by himself.

 

City Commander beyond any doubt. He looks so much cooler than Animated. No contest.

 

Yup. Animated Magnus never needed to be fixed, he was great from the get-go.

Plus, I don't like the giant feet, huge box-thing (I refuse to call it a "gun" when it looks nothing like one) or the terrible arms of the City Commander. The head on him is kinda cool, though.

Animated Ultra Magnus. He's now able to DEAL with things!

 

Yeah, Animated Magnus ftw.. I mean I dont really like the mouth for Animated Magnus but... the... Hundred dollar masterpiece revoltech wannabe just isnt what id want to pay for becuse it looks like it should have come with Ultra Magnus anyways   so why pay that much... Yah know

I can't deal with it right now!

This is seriously a hard decision because both figures are near the top of my list; however, on Magni Shelf City Commander takes center stage as I planned for months. For that reason, I pick city commander just ahead animated magnus as a figure. As far as leadership ability, my vote goes to Supreme Commander Animated Ultra Magnus.

 

Animated Magnus for hammer time. City Commander's BFG kinda falls flat :/

City Commander for me. I really really want the city-commander set, while I don't have any interest in Animated Magnus at all.

Although I'm going to vote for Animated Magnus because that's the only one I can hope of owning.(hopefully that's not true)

They are both awesome toywise.

Character wise, I would have to say that Animated Magnus wins that one, hands down.

Ok, I'll vote Animated!

 

Animated Ultra Magnus Leader Class > than City Commander. Though I do like the Classic City Commander better as a figure.

 

Animated Magnus, for these reasons.

1)You can actually afford him, and he's bigger than City Commander. How does that work?

2) Hammertime.

3) Can deal with anything because of his weapons and sweet-as-hell alt mode.

4) ...He's Thor.
