Peter Cullen all the way
Peter Cullen! No one is anywhere near his amazing talents!
Cullen by far.
I have to say all of them...Peter Cullen is great, but (and it may be because of 5 consecutive series) I also like Gary Chalk's Optimus. David Kaye in Animated was grand, and iirc, RID Prime wasn't half bad.
Cullen. You shouldn't even have to ask.
Cullen is great, but Chalk's Beast Wars Optimus is my personal favorite. Chalk's BM and A/E/C Optimuses, not so much.
Why the great Mr. Chalk!
I liked Cullen because he also did the voice of K.A.R.R. from the 1980's Knight Rider series and I always loved KARR as a villain.
When he did the voice for Optimus Prime in the recent movies, you could still hear KARR in the voice.
Peter Cullen will always be the best voice of Optimus Prime. No one else could ever match him.
Peter Cullen by a country mile. Chalk is my second favorite.
Cullen and Chalk.
Chalk's voice is the one I grew up with, so his.
Cullen but Chalk is about 1 step behind... Kaye about 2 behind that as far as primes go then kaplan is down the hall..
This! and this is a pointless poll if i have ever seen one
I like Kaye for the more humanistic approach.
Peter Cullen hands down.
I can't stand Chalk's Optimus voice. I like Kaye. Cullen SOUNDS like a brave war-tired leader.
Mr. Cullen is the most iconic, but they are all great in their own respective roles, especially Chalk's Primal and Kaye's Animated Optimus.
I'd probably rank Mr. Kaplan toward the bottom, not because I think he did a poor job, but more because his RiD delivery was apparently patterned heavily after Peter Cullen, and anime dubbing in general is not often good for showcasing one's voice acting chops.
All of them actually. They were all very dignified in their roles.
While Cullen has "The Voice", I feel Chalk is a better actor. Since this thread asked who was the best actor, I voted Chalk.
