Be honest with yourself. What series do you like best? I love Marvel the best. It just felt better but that is probably the 80s comics speaking to me lol

    subjective question is subjective.

While I enjoy the simplicity of the 80's life in the Marvel series, I much more enjoy IDW for it's fresh (omg not my g1) take on G1 style designs and characters.

This is a dead thread that will only show who stands on the side of comparing the Original to the New.

Or it could be a thread about people saying what they like about either? I mainly like the feel of an old 80s comic with the colored dots.

    IDW.

Maybe it's just because I didn't live them, but going back and reading the Marvel comics was a slog. They were good, but not great, and after a while I stopped caring.

IDW's just got more going for it for me.

IDW definitely. I liked much of Marvel but I feel that IDW outclasses them by today's standards.

My vote goes not to IDW, but to More Than Meets the Eye specifically.

I lived through the Marvel comics, collecting them in my childhood, and they are quite dear to me. However, if pressed, I find think More Than Meets the Eye is better - not IDW as a whole, but certainly MtMtE.

I like Marvel but only to think about what I would change about them if I were in charge of redoing them. I would remove scenes, add scenes and change scenes. Every Transformer would also be closely based on an existing toy. Unless they are supposed to be in their Cybertronian mode but doesn't have an appropriate toy for them, then its made up.

When comparing the best of one to the best of the other, I feel IDW comes out on top now mostly because of Roberts' work.

However, if we're comparing runs as a whole, then I'd have to say Marvel, as I believe it had less crap less often. In IDW, we had basically 3 years straight of poor quality with only a few gems, and that has only been rectified since 2012.

Hard to tell, because Marvel and IDW runs are completely different. I enjoy both for different reasons.
