Which Generations Fall of Cybertron figures are non-canon?

I know Ultra Magnus is in the game as a DLC, but is the mould used canon?

If Hasbro is making a figure of something, I would have to think that would make it a part of a series canon.

No it is not. The ultra magnus in foc looks very much like his g1 self, nothing at all like the generations release . Why hasbro even decided to release such a figure for generations is beyond me.

I never understood the term. Non-canon. Everything's part of a canon... but not necessarily the 'main' canon.

But assuming you mean only the video game canon, rather than the toyline canon, I'd say Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe, and Fireflight, judging by design alone.

Perhaps it would be better to ask which toys do and don't appear in the games, and/or match the on-screen appearances.

Fireflight (Air Raid according to tfwiki) and Ultra Magnus look nothing like they do in the game. Sideswipe is close enough even though the chest is completely wrong.

So is Ultra Magnus. But they don't match the game appearances.

Though most of Bruticus don't either, but a lot of features went into that toy, so I'd excuse it if it were up to me.

Sideswipe is based on the game design, it's just using Jazz's mold. It's got the same head and vehicle.

Toy Sideswpe has different arms, a different chest, and I'm pretty sure different legs & back in bot mode than game Sideswipe. Car mode and head is pretty close though, I agree.

I think the toy version of UM is Hasbro's way of trying to put in half the effort to give the fans a good toy. A reuse of the OP mold saves them money, gets us to spend ours, and make them richer.

Toy Sideswipe has the same legs and shoulders as Jazz. I believe he also has the same power arms but am not super confidant off the top of my head. His vehicle mode pieces are different as is his head.

Semantics is the last thing you'd want to argue here, trust me. I've been trying to question people's use of "remold" and the misused "repaint" when they really mean retool and redeco, respectively. Ultimately goes nowhere though.

I didn't exactly want to argue it, just point it out. I believe that if everyone knows what you're trying to say, that's good enough, because that's the whole point of communication. IMO what I said is noteworthy, but I don't really care what people want to call it. =)
