Put simply, which toy or figure looks most like their live action/cartoon character?

I guess the Animated toys will probably be most people's choice, as most of the movie figures, regardless of how well they are made, can never really recreate a CGI model with thousands of parts.

Having said that, purely as a toy, ROTF Leader Prime is about as awesome as it gets for me, in terms of realism and accuracy.

I doubt many G1s will figure in this discussion, but perhaps someone out there can make a good case for a few of them (Soundwave, Shockwave..?).

I'd be interested to hear some thoughts and comments on this.

Definitely, the figures from the Animated toy line are as screen-accurate as they can get.

    :lol

G1 Ironhide and Ratchet must be contenders for least like their on-screen counterparts.

    G1 Megatron not far behind.

The Beast Wars Fuzors/Transmetals/Transmetals 2 deserve a shout-out for blazing a trail in this category.

I guess if you're looking at ROTF, I would say Mixmaster.
Not a very solid figure, but definitely looks almost exactly like his on screen counterpart.

The unicron trilogy would really win on terms of on-screen accuracy, as I think the animation models are just scans of the figures themselves~

Absolutely anything from AEC. If the toy's utter crap, it probably looks like it's screen counterpart. :D  :lol

Animated came pretty close as well.

Weren't the Energon and Cybertron toys made using the same 3-D models that they used for the cartoon?

Beast Wars Quickstrike is right up there with the best of them.

Cybertron used the toys as the base for the animation models, if I recall, so those.

Other than that, HoC/SCF... if you don't factor in transforming.

I really like the later seasons of Beast Wars for having CGI models very close to the toys.

If we're looking for a specific toy, I really think that Animated Prowl is the winner. Overall line would probably be Cybertron or Animated.
