Is this wal-mart prequel DVD worth it? There are some seriously cool deals out there and I'm unsure what to get. What are you guys/gals getting and why?

I'm getting the Target one. Transforming case, 2-disk Edition, Exclusive comic book, great price for what you're getting, and my dislike for Walmart are all the reasons why I'm getting the Target version :D .

I'm getting the Decpticon steel case from Suncoast/FYE. I like the simplicity of the cover design and have no use for the extras being offered by other stores.

Oct 16th, Walmart opens early (pre-story DVD), then Target (Transforming Case), then Best Buy (got to get the exclusive figures.) Unsure about Circuit City, Sears and Suncoast, however plan to end the shopping day at Blockbuster for the Transformers popcorn tin!

I'm going for the Best Buy stuff first. I want those figures! But, I also really want the Suncoast/FYE steel case if I can find one. I called a local FYE store and they told me they only got four in and they were already reserved! They didn't know if they'd get any more. The steel case is the best looking IMHO. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yep, but there are 2 of us that will be sharing the fun of the hunt, and the different versions and a co-worker want a movie but does not care about the exclusives/extras so I will give her one for the cost of a single DVD.

i wish we knew more about what the prequel actually is, it would make my decision making that much easier. if its actually like animated, I'm all for that. if its just comic stills with some shitty half assed animation, ill pass. i want the metal case, but i don't think ill be able to get one. the target transforming case does nothing for me, as does circuit city's silly promo. best buy is okay, but i don't collect robot heroes, and the metallic figures are coolish but i already have the regular ratchet and I'm passing on voyager megs all together, the ice pisses me off too much.

I'm not sure which one to get. I think the one with the most video extras will be more worth it. Whichever one looks the nicest with the 2disc special edition will be the one I get. I guess the Suncoast one?

Target! all I want is a two disc edition. Since their exclusive is a two disc and since I have a target near me that's the winner.

100% agree. Target's transforming case is the clear winner for me...and I didn't even know it came with an exclusive comic.

Wal-Mart's animated prequel comes with the single disc version of the movie, so you'll sacrifice a lot of studio produced bonus content about how the movie was made in exchange for Peter Cullen reading you a comic you probably already own.

I'm going with the Target and Wal-mart versions. I'll probably give away or sell the single-disc from Wal-Mart and keep the bonus disc, depending on how it's packaged.

Last I heard, Blockbuster has the "free MP3 player w/purchase of movie" and a popcorn tin. See here for more details.

Is the Wal-Mart prequel disc really just the prequel comic with Peter Cullen reading it? If it is, then I'll get the Target one.
