FP kit is monumentally better. Thats why I have it pre-ordered. Its nice when gesalts have actual limbs.

As already mentioned, the pics are a bit biased. The picture on the left is a carefully-posed and crisp shot with same-mold limbs on the legs and arms respectively, while the original on the right is blurry and appears like it has been intentionally posed to make it look as awful as possible. All the energon combiners look much better (IMO) when you use same-mold legs and arms, and the hands and feet (such as they are) can be positioned to look quite a bit more flattering than that.

But I vote for original. The Energon weapons were the feature/gimmick of the line, integrate back into the individual toys well, and mean something within the fiction. Bots without standard limbs have been around since G1 - Shockwave comes to mind - and it doesn't bother me here. I do applaud the effort, as I know a lot of folks don't like the weapon hands and feet, but I've yet to see a third-party add-on that doesn't look like... well, a third-party add-on.

Energon combiners are pretty weaksauce.... unless upgraded into kick-assed-ness by FP!

I'm stunned anyone voted for the stock limbs.

The FP add-ons look much better than that terrible combined mode given to the official Hasbro photograph.

But I still think SMOG's fan-form takes the cake.

(Sorry if the hotlinked image gets taken off. And I know this isn't exactly SMOG's Superion, but this came up on the Google.)

I'm sorry, but while the FP looks better, it still looks funny. Defiantly not worth the price they are asking for.

As the question is stated... FP. Considering the cost I probably won't get it. It's not a must have of awesomeness like the city commander.

I'm for FP, but as ams mentioned, that stock pic is unflattering of the combiner as-is. Plus, considering it will cost me more for the FP set then the actual combiner (MRSP for the Combiner ROTF relelease: $29.99, FP add-on: $49.99 or around that), I can settle for what I will get with the combiner. It's better than no classics Superion, that's for sure.

Out of those two, I prefer Fansproject, but I really, really like Smog's fan version as someone else pointed out, and when I had my Energon Superion, I used that transformation.

After trying this out I am still unimpressed. The arms are too short and the hands arent Hands. Good try I guess.

i can't help but say the fansproject looks good, but for the price i'd have to pass as well. if i had the money, i'd preorder. with all the new rotf figures coming out, i rather shell money on that. if it was a bit cheaper, i would consider but since these are custom i can understand the pricing.
i kinda like smog's fan form. i might attempt that on mine, well when it comes.

hablow needs to make an actual combiner with actual feet and hand/arms, how did those original arms and leg even pass as arm and leg to begin with...
