And the irony of it all is? Ratchet IS supposed to be a badass!  At least according to Hasbro. Read the original TF Movie Guide there's stuff in there like he is one of the few Autobots who can go toe to toe with Megatron (yeah I thought it was a misprint too... That is until we got ROTF Megs) and that Ratchet is often willing to put him self directly in the firing line to rescue his comrades and is even willing to rip out his own parts to repair them if need be.

*Sigh* If only we got a Ratchet that awesome, I still liked him in the first movie but ROTF Ratchet stunk.... badly

 

I always wondered why Ratchet was in these movies and why he was supposedly the Autobot medic. Sam has revived more Autobots then him!

 

It does seem like Ratchet's role so far could have been played by just about any other bot since he only seems to be able to patch a bot instead of heal a bot.

On the "putting himself into danger"-part, it looks like him.
On being toe on toe with Megs, it sounds absurd as hell, but I can imagine him giving Megs some trouble [of course, not winning], using strategy [Strategy being: attack Megs with one or two attacks, run as hell, repeat until he dies] and his kowledge on medicine to strike Megs on his weak points.

But of course, I don't think he would last much on a fair one-to-one fight [that's what Jazz tried, and he ended up ripped off in two].

Yeah, Ratchet had too little screen time on ROTF [and did little to nothing], but I like his little moments ["This fool is terribly misinformed!"], like when he suggested to leave Earth in a hopeless way.

 

Ratchet has a flamethrower or a repeating gun, so hopefully he'll kick some ass. And accualy talk more than two times.

 

It's funny how most of his weapons sound like something that only a bad shit crazy warrior would use[buzzsaw, flametrhower], yet they are techinically just Medical equipments for transformers [Buzzsaw to cut through heavily injured metal like a scalpel, flamethrower to weld metal].

He could be the one to finish off Soundwave [as they are the "science" guys of their teams].

 

thank u for not jumping on the "i hate the twins" bandwagon. i respect that.  and the thing about them impressing their superiors is why i thought them and jazz would have been gold together. i love the twins.

if leo is in this movie, make him more mature and not a cry baby. and i dont want decepticon copies or cannon fodder. they can bring people back *cough- *jazz* - cough* like they did with brawl, sideways, and long haul.

 

shockwave is the science guy. blaster and soundwave are more of enemies.  just sayin

 

Honestly, I don't wanna see Megs in there too much. Too many cheesy "I WILL EAT YOUR SOUL" lines. Unless he has that sword/gun/pincer thingy. That was awesome.

I have to say i'm not looking forward to Shockwave. If Burton's not voicing him, I just don't like him.

 

Shockwave is the main villain [whose degree of SCIENCE is not known]...

Besides, Soundwave is a hacker, that counts as "science guy" for me.

 

Since I've heard rumblings about him, I really am not interesting in Wheelie, unless he actually does something more than act like a whiny Joe Pesci character like in the last one.
