Hulk alone would completely ANNIHALATE the whole Decpeticon army since the Decepticons in the movieverse are made from shit and fail.

I voted for Capt. America, but I think Optimus Prime combines the leadership and nobility of Cap along with the unparallel powers of Thor into one. I think that's why Prime seems to be the only one who is doing all the heavy-lifting and the rest of the Autobots are left out in the cold.

Captain America. The colors are one thing, but also the character arc. Both Steve Rogers and Orion Pax started out in low positions, but in time, grew stronger mentally and physically. Their deeds we're grand, and they are both legend- wait for it! Now I hope you're not lactose intolerant, because the next part is DAIRY!

I've gone back and forth on this but I think he would be Iron man because of his dependence on Mehctech.

It's hard to see because he was a bad guy in the movie but Sentinel is the Capt America equivalent. He even managed to defeat Optimus one on one.

Capt for Optimus...just look at the color.

    Ironman suits Rodimus.

I was under the impression it was more of a generic question, based on the idea of the character's spirit across all mediums.

Indeed, well, in that case have to break things down a little finer, because trying to lump so many versions of Optimus in one entity and be fair in the comparisons is impossible.

Actually might even have to go outside of the Avengers for a few sets.

G1, Serious and Honorable to a fault, yet with a sense of humor and a soft side. Thor?

Comics, (I am probably not well versed enough to make that call)

UT, Did tend to wise crack and be a little more of a free spirit, Movie Ironman perhaps?

Bayimus, Anti-heroic tendencies yet still overall not evil. Punisher perhaps?

Prime, Serious and Honorable to a fault, however lacking in the sense of humor part. Cyclops perhaps

If your speaking only of the movie franchises then easily the Avengers.

Thor or Hulk could easily do it alone. The whole movie team would be overkill. The true teamwork aspect alone of the Avengers is enough to tip the scales in their favor.

As for other continuities, that story might be different.

Hardly. Comic continuties are even stronger. They could smash most transformer incarnations short of Alternity or the First 13.

Does anybody thinks that most TF verses would stand a chance against, lets say Magneto or Hulk Worldbreaker?

G1 Optimus? Captain America. Bayformers Optimus? A mash-up of Thor/Iron Man/Captain America; the honour is still there, but he's willing to go to greater lengths to achieve said freedom.

    Fixed. ;)

Oh hale naw! You did not just described Coulson as "average"! Them's fightin' words! :p  Only adjectives such as "amazing", "fantastic", "breathtaking", "special" and "extraordinary" will do!

The Avengers, easily. Hell, the Hulk alone could take all of them out.

Cap. He's self-less, responsible, serious, skilled, and such a great leader. Iron Man is too self centered and such, and Thor... Depends on if it's him from his movie, or him from the Avengers (he's more mature there). Either way, he's most like Cap.

In all fairness, you have to remember different does not always mean opposite, different could also mean that different incarnations of Avengers could wipe the floor with different incarnations of the Decepticons even faster as well. Some may not. A lot of variables to take into account in that broad based a question.

As for Magneto that is another VERY broad question, there has been some VERY different power levels of Magneto, if your referring to Magneto at the peak of his power he could probably dismember Cybertron given some time.
