Which autobots is the most emotional in the movies Canopy or Ratchets for me its canopy
Easily ratchet. Sure, canopy seemed so gentle and nice, and his death was sad (especially for Izzy) but we knew ratchet. We knew that he would fight for earth until the day he dies. And it’s sad he is killed by the ones he’s risked his life for many times
Barely even knew who Canopy was, didn't care about him nearly enough. Ratchet was a character we had for three movies, and was killed as a way to introduce a badass new villain - easily more emotional.
Easily Ratchet, though both were victims of having their deaths shown in the trailers. Well, with Ratchet I had him pegged for death the moment he first showed up being shot at by CW in the first AOE teaser trailer.
Ratchet had a long, slow and brutal death scene. Assholes laughing in his face as he explained himself and what was going on, blowing his body to pieces, just... ugh. Then Lockdown arrived to claim his trophy. It's remarkable that the death of a minor character turned out to be emotional and a great way to introduce the threat level of AOE.
Also he was my favorite from the 07 Bots. Always the dependable cool guy in the background, a real team player, only to die a horrible death alone. I felt sick watching the thermal scan of Ratchet hiding in the ship with his weapon ready.
Ratchet died for his convictions and for his leader. Hesitant to fight against the people he fought alongside up until his last moments. Alone. Unsure if his sacrifice would even amount to anything.
Canopy died because kids are fucking stupid.
50 years from now, the name Ratchet will still be known.
2 years from now, Canopy will only be remembered by a few.
Ratchet wasn't just a "death", it was a freaking onscreen massacre that should never have happened. Soooooo glad Bayverse is over. Now they can reset the deck that Bay and cronies royally fragged up.
I felt no emotion whatsoever when Canopy died. Not sure if that was from seeing it 50 times in trailers or if it's just because we barely knew who he was. It's kind of like a random person getting killed in a movie. We have no clue who that person is, so it doesn't affect us as much.
Ratchet was heart-wrenching. I still have trouble watching that scene.
The main thing the Canopy scene had going for it was Izzabella and any emotion in that scene came from her, Canopy himself was without any discernible personality, I mean he seemed to like the girl, but for all we knew he was planning on eating her for Christmas dinner.
Ratchet however, was particularly well made scene where I found myself unexpectedly invested in Ratchets survival, surprised at his death, in mild awe of the movies new Villain, and thinking imma gonna need more popcorn!
Yes! I felt like it was in every damn trailer! It gets to a point where shots like Grimlock whacking barricade with his tail for example, are shown so. Damn. Much. That by the time the movie comes the scene has lost all emotion and feeling and coolness. We had seen canapy since day one of promo, and every time he had more blood and more damage.
Could you imagine if he remained a secret like Trench and all of a sudden a new and unknown bot is shown and then BAM he gets gunned down without seeing it a gazillion times in previews!
Would have been very interesting to experience the moment without knowing.
Ratchet's death was sadder for all the reasons listed by others above, plus his death paralleled that of Ironhide's (betrayed by the very entities they sought to protect)
ratchet's of course. He was like the most docile of the Autobots. Like he never killed a single Decepticon even though he been in like 3 movies. Hell when he died, He didn't even try to fight back. He just ran for his life.
I will say this, who the fuck was Canopy again?
That's my answer.
No one has said canopy's death was sadder yet, and i doubt anyone ever will. We are true tf fans on these forums so we don't care about a stupid bot named canopy, we care about ratchet who has been in pretty much EVERY series yet
Imagine if it was Ratchet bonding with izzy and dying trying to protect Izzy. I probably could fill buckets with tears if that was the case
Ratchet's no doubt. Nothing in TLK made me feel sorry for Canopy. He had no personality.
Also the reason why he got killed made no sense whatsoever. We have target that has been moving close to the civillians and is also very slow... yeah it's probably hostile... let's fire a big missile while the kids are 20 feet away from him... for real?
Honestly this thread would make more sense if you took out Canopy and subbed in Ironhide's, Que's or even Leadfoot's.
I don’t think it’s over, they just said a “brand new story”. Probably the animated prequel
