so, i've been playing with my energon figures, and wondering which two would be a sweet 2 pack, and who they should be...

    so, who do ya love?

i'd like to see downshift, in new colors as a new character, or maybe a target master. and i'd really like the character to be a con...to add to the con car forces...so he could be a stunticon, to go with my 2nd option...

for the 2nd mold, i'd want rodimus...he might make a decent motormaster...new head of course, but then you could sort of have a menasor...and i know there's a bunch of people who will cry about that idea, but i think it'd be fun...

    so, who do you want?

oh, came up with a bot pairing...

rodimus as crosshairs...and downshift as sureshot...that would be fun...

Constructing this like one of the Target-exclusive two-packs except, instead of comics, each figure gets a bonus Energon weapon (or weapons)...

    Battle on the Waves

With an ear-splitting sonic boom, the aerial Decepticon Thundercracker descends on an offshore oil-drilling platform, intent on converting the crude fuel into enough Energon to power the Decepticon forces for weeks. Receiving a distress signal from the platform, the Autobot Seawatch races to the scene to prevent the fuel from falling into Decepticon hands...or damaging the surrounding environment.

    Seawatch
    - Faction - Autobot
    - Mold - Energon Sharkticon
    - Deco - Black, red and blue patterned after the G1 Micromaster character
    - Bonus accessories - Two translucent red plastic Energon pistols (recolour of Energon Cruellock pistols) and an Energon chip.
    - Package call-outs - Hidden sea-to-air missile launchers! Includes Energon pistols!

    Thundercracker
    - Faction - Decepticon
    - Mold - Energon Starscream
    - Deco - Thundercracker
    - Bonus accessories - Includes two copies of the massive Energon 'sword' that came with the mold originally (to make the figure symmetrical) plus an Energon chip, all molded in translucent blue plastic with some black paint detail on the swords.
    - Package call-outs - Hidden drone cruise missile launchers! Includes Energon blades!

Well, we already got a Checkpoint (Rodimus redeco) and Prowl set, but I'd love a re-issue of Energon Downshift (Wheeljack) and Hot Shot (for customization reasons).

Personally I'd rather see more Voyager & Deluxe 2-packs. Here are some of my ideas using Energon molds:

    Whirl vs. Dead End
    -Whirl- using Bulkhead mold
    -Dead End- using Downshift mold

    Towline vs. Sky-bite
    -Towline- using Ironhide mold
    -Sky-bite- using Sharkticon mold

I wouldn't want to see old molds reissued as characters like Wheeljack if it meant we wouldn't get a new mold of the character, which it probably would.

I think Blades is a great example of a worth while repaint. The mold fits excellently, and it's a minor enough character that it was probably unlikely we would have seen a new mold for him anyway.

Roadbuster would fit this criteria as well had they just given him a new head! (fortunately there's the upgrade set).

Energon Downshift is an okay mold, but compared to modern Universe toys, Wheeljack deserves better.

vvvv YES. I would love to get my hands on another E. Swoop without spending a fortune.

There should be a re-release of Energon Grimlock and Swoop for all those who are forced into paying $50+ on eBay.

I'd also like to see Energon Downshift be re-released with his green molded parts in grey like Superlink Wheeljack as Universe Wheeljack

I would like to see Cybertron Blurr for well Blurr (straight re-release would work). If you were going to go with the Deluxe + Voyager formula, I would have to go with Energon Mirage in Scourge type colours (not really sure why, but it could work). I also think Energon Downshift makes a great Wheeljack

I would love to see a minibot set: Cybertron Armorhide (Huffer/Pipes), Cybertron Ransack (Wheelie), Cybertron Scattorshot (Warpath), Cybertron Overhaul (Brawn), Cybertron Hardtop (Beachcomber), Cybertron Shortround (Seaspray).

$50+ you say? I just might have to chuck up my set...

It's f***ing stupid how much people are paying. I was lucky and someone on the boards didn't want thier's anymore, so I got a very good price.

It is not that good of a set either. $50 is a little high in my opinion.

    Strictly Energon deluxe 2packs?

Hot Spot(Zone): Light Blue repaint of Inferno
First Aid: Repaint of Towline, probably in First Aid's G2 colors to differentiate him a bit more from Universe & Botcon Ratchet's color schemes. Be great to get a head remold on him too, could do it 2-faced for individual & combined modes: 1 side First Aid's face, the other side Defensor's face.

Energon Prowl could be good as Slapdash then to finish of the Autobot Powermaster Trio Joyride could be repainted from Energon Cliffjumper... though the sizes would preclude a decent looking combiner. Other option would be to repaint Energon Prowl for both of them. I'd go for it, but 2 uses of the same mold doesn't seem likely.

Arrange these in however packagin' you want. And sorry, I'm repeating a few, but great minds think alike

    energon Prowl - Slapdash
    energon Beachcomber - Joyride
Energon HotShot - Getaway (I know we already have Breakaway, but aesthetically this mold fits Getaways look better imo)
    Energon Tidal Wave- Broadside
Energon Bulkhead - Whirl (Great idea! Gives Roadbuster his partner)
    Energon Scorponok - G1 Colors

I'd say Omega Supreme in G1 colors but he's a bit too large me thinks... Then again, so might Scorp and Tidal Wave

People have really come up with some good ideas in this thread already. There were a few great ones I had never considered before. Anyway, if we're talking strictly Energon figures, I'd say (sorry, some repeats from other posters):

    Deluxes:
-Downshift and Inferno repainted into Siren and Hosehead (to give TFCC Nightbeat some buddies)
    -Prowl into Slapdash
-Demolisher (dump-truck version) into G1 Landfill or Wideload
-Starscream into, well.... any other Seeker, Aerialbot, Cyberjet, or Predator
-Towline into First Aid or even Kup
-Sharkticon in G1 Gnaw colors (wait, is this guy a deluxe or a scout? I don't own him.)

    Non-deluxes
-Scorponok in G1 colors (why Hasbro hasn't done this already, I cannot fathom)
-Bulkhead with a new head into Whirl (another frustratingly-obvious-yet-unproduced repaint)
    -Ravage into Rampage or Catilla
    -Divebomb in G1 Divebomb colors

Beast Machines Tankor (the $20 one) repainted as Shockwave

    vs

Beast Machines Blastcharge repainted as Warpath (CHEST CANNON!)

You get a Voyager and a Deluxe, so it works as a comic book 2-pack.
