now---before you get all abusive...my question may have been asked before, or mentioned before, but I have no time to peruse every thread. easier to just ask. looked at the IMDB for DotM, saw Avery Brooks still listed as Silverbolt. Is this a truth? bucket
IMDB is a horrible source of information, it always has fake things. There's absolutely nothing telling that Avery Brooks will voice Silverbolt. James Avery, however, said he would be voicing Silverbolt. But it's likely that it was just a "prototype name" of another characters [like the Wreckers] or that he's voicing him just for the game, OR that he is voicing him for TF: Prime. Or all the three combined. But direct to the point: Absolutely no confirmation that Silverbolt is on the movie except for James Avery's word [that can be interpreted on multiple ways as I mentioned earlier].
The names can change before the movie is released. Look at Blackout - he was supposed to be Soundwave, then he was supposed to be Vortex...hell, at one point, his name was intended to be DEVASTATOR! Anywho, the point is that Silverbolt could have been a working name - for all we know, it could have been intended for Wheeljack (Einstein Bot) or one of the Wreckers. If he's in the movie, my best bet is that he's part of Sentinel Prime's crew and dies when the Ark crashes into the moon. Sentinel mentions him by name, we hear him speak, then uh-oh, they're losing power in the warp engines, then CRASH.
isn't there a sticky somewhere about never trusting IMDB, never quoting IMDB, and basically never mentioning IMDB here
I don't know. Maybe 'Silverbolt' was a prototype name for one of the Wreckers, or maybe even Mirage or Wheeljack.
Silverbolt is an Aerialbot in the game. James Avery was probably just talking about that role instead of the movie.
There's no reason why he won't be in the film, most likely he is completely CGI. We've yet to see Soundwave too but we know he's in the film.
DotM Silverbolt Way back when, it was said that James Avery (AKA the original voice of TMNT's Shredder and Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) would voice an Autobot character named Silverbolt. But ever since that announcement, there has been no new information on Silverbolt: no concept art, no toy info, no additional word from James Avery, nothing. I've even gone through the comic adaptation, and - besides Mirage, Wheeljack, and Brains - there was no new Autobot design among its pages. So I'm wondering...does Silverbolt actually exist? The reveal of the character was quite early in Dark of the Moon's production, so I'm guessing he wouldn't be to this film what Jolt was to Revenge of the Fallen or anything, right? Any comments or speculation on this?
Yeah, he's not in the movie. It was probably something they were going to do early on but decided not to include that character.
I'd say he was probably considered, but in the end he was scrapped because he would end up as one of those characters who was just there for the sake of being there.
I think that James Avery will voice a character, particularly one of the wreckers, and "Silverbolt" was just a name to put people off...however, I have heard people say that Silverbolt might be in the DOTM game, so maybe he is only in the game
Look at those new renders of Leadfoot, I totally see Avery's voice coming out of that. Silverbolt was likely a placeholder name, much like Blackout's many pre-production names.
i heard mikaela isn't coming back for DOTM, that true? other than that i can't think of older topic to bring up yet again.
It's been said that Bill Fagerbakke will voice one of the Wreckers - so I've figured that since Bill has voiced Gargoyles' Broadway, Patrick Star, and TFA Bulkhead, he might be voicing Leadfoot (albeit with his usual voice perhaps being less comical this time around). But I guess it's possible that Silverbolt was simply a placeholder name for Leadfoot; I had noticed a few of that thread's comments saying that James Avery's voice could suit him.
