Stephen King's It has already passed TF5 and knocked it down to 18th place for 2017. With all these wide releases on the horizon in the next 3 1/2 months where do you see TF5 finishing?

    SEPTEMBER:

    American Assassin
    Mother!
    Friend Request
    Kingsmen 2: The Golden Circle
    Ninjago
    American Made
    Flatliners
    Till Death Do Us Part

    OCTOBER:

    Blade Runner 2049
    The Mountain Between Us
    The Foreigner
    My Little Pony
    Happy Death Day
    Marshall
Prof Marston & The Wonder Women
    Geostorm
    Boo 2 - A Medea Halloween
    Only The Brave
    The Snowman
Same Kind of Different as Me
    All I See Is You
    Thank You For Your Service
    Jigsaw
    Suburbicon

    NOVEMBER:

    A Bad Mom's Christmas
    Thor: Ragnarok
    Daddy's Home 2
    Murder on the Orient Express
    Justice League
    The Star
    Wonder
    Coco
    Death Wish
    Molly's Game

    DECEMBER:

    Ferdinand
    Villa Capri
    Star Wars: The Last Jedi
    Jumanji
    Bastards
    Downsizing
    Pitch Perfect 3
    The Six Billion Dollar Man

While I think that only Kingsmen and Blade Runner are likely to pass it before Halloween (Because Pixar's Coco has been pushed into November) I think November and December have some that will obviously knock TF down (Thor, JL, Coco, and Star Wars) but I think a few others like Pitch Perfect, Jumanji and maybe Ferdinand may do strong numbers.

I don't see any realistic way TF5 finishes in the top 20 and likely finishes somewhere between 26th and 30th.

There are a lot of films that will have to flop for The Last Knight to have any shot at all of remaining in the domestic top 20. Heck I imagine opening weekend of Star Wars will knock The Last Knight down a peg on the list.

While I stink at predicting numbers it does seem like people are ready to go back to the movies after a stinky summer loaded with bad movies. If enough of these movies have a good Rotten Tomatoes score I could see The Last Knight struggling just to stay in the top 30. These days it seems less about your release date and more about if it's the sort of movie people think is worth seeing. Who would have imagined the February release of Get Out would make $175 million domestically?
