Ok so i just re-watched big broadcast of 2006 and at the end of the episode it says the autobots in migrating to new part of the galaxy where re-united with old companions (skylynx, hotrod, arcee magnus, springer and blurr) so whats your theory as to where these characters were during season 1 and 2 of the original transformers cartoon

They were either on Cybertron, or like it said, off on other worlds. Season 3 showed lots of different planets, so who knows?

yeah I always thought that sKy Linx was out exploring random places, and the rest a resistance on Cybertron.

It's a big universe, so it's anyone's guess. Maybe they were all hitching a ride on Sky Lynx checking out the galaxy's club scene.

The G1 cartoon spent so much time on 'origin episodes' for new characters on Season 1, that it was kind of hard to shift gears into 'the characters were just somewhere else before' type of storytelling.

But even Season 2 started showing nearly the entire new cast as if they had always been around. Ramjut, Thrust, Warpath, Tracks -all these characters just sort of 'showed up'.

I think it would be cool to see some fiction on where the S3 characters were and how they got with the main cast.

In my personal fanon, S2 Decepticons (coneheads and triple-changers) were left on Nemesis after it crashed, and were recovered off-screen in Microbots.

Some S2 Autobots were in the Ark all along, badly damaged from the fight, and Prime decided not to revive them immediately, instead waiting until the Autobots had more firmly established on Earth.

Other S2 Autobots were a part of the resistance movement on Cybertron and were sent to Earth by Alpha Trion at some point during S2.

Arcee was one of the female Autobot resistance fighters.

Skylynx was in stasis somewhere on Cybertron and got revived when the Autobots had to flee the planet in a hurry after one of their many hit-and-run missions. He was then sent off to distant parts of the galaxy to seek out potential allies.

UM, Blurr, and Springer were stranded (maybe even enslaved) on a hostile planet for millions of years, until Kup came along on one of his many galaxy-spanning adventures and rescued them. At least that's the way Kup tells the story.

I'm going to go for the boring option of 'they were on Cybertron'.

    Sorry.

    Mine's even more boring:

The writers and designers hadn't come up with them yet.

I'm going with the answer that they were fighting the Cons elsewhere. Arcee was on Cybertron with Elita, but the rest were on other planets and ships. Season 3 and the Japanese shows really expanded the scope of the war, showing us many different fronts.

I like most of this aside from Prime not repairing guys. He can spend resources building the Dinobots but not on established troops. But then again Prime is a dick.

According to "The Files of Teletraan II" segments at the end of the Season 3 episodes, this is your official answer:

So, in a nutshell, several legions of Autobots left Cybertron during the Great War and were scattered across the galaxy. Over the years, members from those many different factions eventually found their way to Earth and were reunited with Optimus Prime and the others who'd established themselves there.

Was pretty much my backstory as well. The only difference was, the S2 Autobots were in the forward section of the Ark and still buried in rocks. It took until S2 for the S1 Autobots to clear enough of the ruble to get to them.

Hotrod - Getting drunk of Energon cubes and ****ing the Autogirls....
Arcee - Being a Cybertron Whore.
Springer - Hosting his own Cybertron TV show.
Blurr - Having a problem with drugs.
Skylynx - Being amazing, because he is full of him self.
    Kup - Being old somewhere.
Ultra Mangus - Doing something that is useful because he knows a war is going on unlike everyone above.

Oh man, thats what I want to know/read/watch.
    Dreamwave kinda tried.....

That would be a great premise for a "Resolute" style movie, yes?? no??

I think that would be epic......

On a similar note, I friggin miss my Warbot Defender, I hope I can set some money aside and get that guy back.....
