Where was it said that Beast Wars followed a mishmash of G1 cartoon/comics?

    It was called "Aunty" in the first issue of the US series. Furman took this name and used it a few more times in the UK comics.

    There was no official press release on the subject, if that is what you are seeking.

    The name 'Primus' was hardly coincidental, especially with Simon Furman's contribution involving the Covenant of Primus at the end of the series.

    References were cherry picked from aspects of G1, it did not try and resolve inconsistencies between comic and cartoon, or balance them.
