Okay, so I have a day off in Tokyo on the weekend.
Excluding Akihabara what general stores could I find the Japanese classics in? What should I be looking for?

I don't speak Japanese and have a hard time with the signage. So I'm looking for the general department store with hopes of finding either the chromed Prime, Megatron or Hot Rod.

Any advice would be most welcome. I'll be in and around Tokyo station.
    Thanks!

If you can, make a trip to Ueno Station. Upon exiting the main entrance, you'll see across the street a building with a big yellow sign that says Yamashiroya. That whole building is essentially a toy store. It's really close to Ueno Park. There was a pretty decent TF selection there.

There's also the Bic Camera in the Ginza district. Be aware though that there's two Bic Camera's there. You want the one that's not the single story one. Not all Bic Camera's carry toys. There are some that don't carry anything but electronics as well.

There's also a similar situation in Shinjuku with Bic Camera. You want the one that's next to the bus depot.
