Never been there, but if you see a place called "The Toy Box," I'd suggest you avoid it.

There is a toy shop in Japantown that sells some TFs (several Masterpiece bots), but prices aren't the best.

    That name sounds familiar.

How much approx for an MP? Cant be more expensive than here. Any Henkeis?

Anything at all really. Which American stores sell TF's apart from Walmart, Target and Costco?

    Don't forget about ToysRus. :)

Some Walgreens and Riteaids have Tfs but at their prices, you might as well buy Henkei.

Walgreens has Universe 2.0 Sideswipe for $17.99!!! Ouch!!

dont think there's a TRU,WM or Target anywhere near where i'll be staying.

Cungitron, there are some small comic/hobby shops around there and if you hit "Chinatown," you'll find great KOs and weird Tfs, at great prices. I'll try and get you some addresses.

Wow, those are some tough prices for Tfs there in Ireland.

Japan Toys in Japantown (JPNTOYS i think)

There's a second toy store that has less selection in Japantown as well

Jeffrey's Toys downtown on Market street has pretty good advance releases (had ROTF months before release; had animated early, had universe early) but with about 100% markup. They had animated leader class Megs for like $80

There are no Targets, TRU, or Walmart's in the actual city due to the cost of unions and such.

Chinatown has KO's but its a total crapshot trying to find stuff.

Comics and Cards Central (Cards and Comics Central - Welcome!) on Geary has a good variety of Japanese toys but they are fairly pricey. I believe a Binaltech goes for like $70 IIRC. Maybe you can haggle if the owner's there. They would have masterpiece stuff, binal tech, reissues, Macross stuff, as well as american releases (marked up a bit of course).

The toy store in Japantown has an MP-04 for $300 + 10% tax. I didn't both asking the price for the MP Megatron and Grimlock.

I was in SF a few years back, and of all the cities in the US I've been to it was the worst for TFs.

There used to be a couple of Toys R Us stores but they closed down years ago. No Targets nor Walmarts in the city limits either. If you plan on driving or visiting areas outside of San Francisco's city limits, you would have a better chance of finding new releases at the aforementioned stores. If you are looking for vintage transformers, there are two stores in the South Bay (in San Jose; about a 1 hour drive from SF). One is called Time Tunnel Toys. They sell nothing but vintage toys from all lines. The other is a couple doors down called Space Cat Comics. Space Cat has sold vintage G1 figures in the past; I haven't been there recently so I don't know what their inventory is like. Also of note, Time Tunnel has a toy show they put on 2-3 times a year and I heard that the last one had a really good selection of vintage transformers. The show will be on Sat. March 20, 2010. If you are considering coming down to San Jose, I can check out those stores to see if it is worth your while.

Thanks guys. There's a few places i can check out.

$300 for an MP. Wow! That isexpensive

That Jeffreys place sounds ok. Prices are similar to here but they should have lots of stuff that wont appear over here for months, if at all.

    Thanks again guys
