Getting back into TF. Where are good places, with good prices to purchase the new encore series and also some of the older reissues?? Any help would be great or direct me to previous posts.

You are looking for deals? Better skip TFC then, unless you want Stepper and Kup.

I've looked around a few sites and the pricing tends to be similar. You might get a difference in a dollar or two, but nothing major.

Eh, not really. Prices are usualy the same everywhere, though you could take your chances with ebay.

you can try preordering the upcoming stuff with www.hlj.com, though they tend to sell out on the new stuff fast. Still worth a try.
Otherwise, try the sponsors, they may not be the best deals, but they are reliable as well. I've dealt with BBTS many times and never had any trouble with them, and I bought several items for very good prices off TFSource at Botcon so I would recommend them too.

I second the recommendation to Hobby Link Japan. They often run early bird specials on preorders too. It's best to buy reissues as soon as they are released to avoid rising prices.

The benefit of using the mentioned sponsers and HLJ is you know you won't get scammed.

:lolol  AVOID BILL'S TOYS AT ALL COSTS.

If you really aren't sure about a place, ask us here. There probably isn't a place out there that hasn't been dealt with by someone here.

You could also check out www.digital-toys.com (they're about on par with everyone else, but it's another option)

There's many good reasons he said that, to put it nicely.

Yeah avoid him like the Plague. But enough of that let's just drop that subject, lest all of us that were screwed start bringing up hard feelings

For emphasis, please do not bring up your bad experiences with that site here. elkkthunder, if you read the feedback and do a few searches of the site, you'll get an extensive history of the troubles with that one. Check out soundblaster1's links, they'll tell you what you need to know.

In any case, the real point I was trying to make is that sponsorship is no indication of great service or the best prices. Sure, at the moment the sponsors for the 2005 boards are top-notch, but then Bill used to be one as well. Though fewer in number, BBTS, HLJ or even TFSource have had their detractors for whatever reasons. There's always risk in dealing with online shopping, but the more feedback you can check, the more you can minimize that risk.

Now, for your specific case, if you want the best deals on reissues, it'd help to be more specific to your needs. A list here or in a new thread in the Wanted forum would help.

    ...which you have. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=158266

Megatron, just being released in the Encore line, should be easy. As long as you are ok with settling for the US versions, Thundercracker and Skywarp shouldn't be too difficult, but the Japanese reissues can be stupidly expensive for those two. The rest are a mixed bag, and I don't follow the ups and downs of some of those too much. Galvatron, in either the purple or grey version, should be little trouble to get.

Someone else ought to take over giving him help now. :)

do you think ebay is the best place to go for these, it seems the sponsors dont have many of them

it seems costly from most of the oversea sellers
