As far as I'm concerned, Wreckage was the only movie deluxe I wasn't disappointed in. I loved it more that I thought I would. So where the heck is his repaint? Most of the other deluxe TFTM toys have been repainted!
There's a toy coming up that is named Salvage. Several people have theorized that he's an Autobot repaint of Wreckage.
And I hope salvage is still a con. There are to many really cool autobot repaints. and not enough con ones. (for those who want to pass on jungle bonecrusher)
Yeah, I could see some sweet repaints on that mold. A nice desert camo and give him some of those allspark blue accents.
I'm hoping he's a more sensible urban camo deco--a digital deco would be wicked, but I'd be happy with just a steel grey with black highlights or blast marks to break it up.
Darken the grey, change black to blood red, and you have a REAL Darth Maul Transformer. Especially if you connect the blades and of course, leave them red.
I'm sorta surprised myself, I figured he'd be a shoe in for a repaint seeing as he already has a name.
How many repaints of the movie toys do we need?! I already got Jazz, Ratchet, and Starscream repaints. Still waiting on the Optimus Prime repaint.
I sold off most of my other movie toys. I was really disappointed in the line. I only plan on keeping Leader prime, robo prime, the real gears and Wreckage. Wreckage rules, and I had fun repainting him. I'd love a repaint that's darker or green camo.
Since a lot of fans seem to want the Stryker repaint (myself included) he'll probably end up a Botcon exclusive.
They already said no movie designs for Botcon. Same thing with Alts. Licensing would make them too expensive.
I think, and I could be wrong, that Wreckage wasn't actually one of the licensed toys. When he didn't make the movie cut, they didn't get the license--instead, they just made him a military vehicle that happens to be really similar to a Stryker. If that's the case, he would be one of the movie line up for grabs, and I would love him to be a convention exclusive. Fun fact about the Stryker--only two models have air conditioners: the medical verson (yay for me) and the command version. Wonder why that is?
I'm almost sure it had Dreamworks licensing on the packaging. Anyone wanna confirm/deny this? It's been almost 6 months since I've seen the packaging. About the AC thing... It's obviously because the commanders need to be kept cool while they're calling the shots... And a sweaty doctor will have trouble getting his gloves on. EDIT: Lucky for me, an ebay auction confirms the Dreamworks licensing. Whether that is the licensing they were refering to or not is beyond me.
I thought the licensing issue wasn't with Dreamworks, but with the manufacturers of the vehicles. So FP would have to hit up GM or whoever for the movie figs, and Honda/Mazda/Toyota/Dodge/etc. for Alt exclusives. I smell a panel question next April.
The licencing issues would only relate to figures such as Bumblebee and Starscream, who ARE officially licensed molds of real vehicles. Real Gear Robots, Wreckage and figures that weren't in the movie would be eligible for repaints in other lines/exclusives.
Is it wrong that I want a Wreckage repaint done in Beast Machines' Strika's colors? Not the toy, mind you, but the show version.
I wouldn't mind a repaint of Wreckage, but if they do I'd wish they'd take the time to fix the neck so the damn thing can look up. Thats it's only failing really, but it's a pretty big fail.
