I'm getting really nervous that the other Animated figures got canceled. They weren't at the toyfair today. Does anyone else have these concerns or know what is going on? I remember reading on the NJ thread forum (if I recall correctly) that a TRU manager said not all stores ordered the exclusives because the line is canceled!

Thread bumping to the toy board in 10... 9... 8... 7...

Seriously though, All Hasbro wants out of Animated now is to hopefully find an outlet for the few unreleased toys, so a Toy Fair showing is near-pointless. It's just waiting for news about what stores they might show up at, and/or hoping they will be part of Takara's TF:A line for the time being.

I fear that as well, considering that its not just one toy we're waiting for:

    Deluxe Rodimus
    Deluxe Vortex Blurr
    Deluxe Toxic Oil Slick
    Deluxe Ironhide
    Voyager Thundercracker
    Voyager Wingblade Prime
    Voyager Hydrodive Bumblebee
    Voyager Goldfire Grimlock
    Voyager Blackout

That's a lot of toys. Now, I would be just fine if we got Rodimus, Thundercracker, Blackout and Ironhide. There is also the chance that it will get shuffled in the new Transformers line "Generations", I just hope we get them one way or another.

I don't want the toyline to be cancelled ever. I hope that Hasbro is able to find a way to get them all out.

The future does seem fairly dire for the Animated line. If the figures were going to be mass-released, they almost certainly would have been shown/announced. Even if they were going to be exclusives, they also probably would have been shown/announced, since MP Grimlock and Blaster/Cassettes were both announced and those are exclusives.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vortex Blurr, Toxic Oil Slick, Ironhide, Thundercracker, Goldfire Grimlock and the Voyager Bulkhead repaint get canceled entirely, since they're just repaints (and one minor remold). However, I'd imagine Hasbro would want to try to get Rodimus, Wingblade Prime, Hydrodive Bumblebee and Blackout released in at least some capacity to recoup some of the cost of making those new molds (Blackout, at least, seems confirmed for Takara's Animated line). But is any retailer going to actually want Animated exclusives now after the line's questionable performance, not to mention it having basically ended in early 2009? Best hope might be that Hasbro releases the rest of the Animated stuff slowly in Generations.

Considering Generations is looking a bit like a "whatever we damn well feel like" line for Hasbro, there's a tiny glimmer of hope, however faint it may be.

Yeah, that might work out. But as you said, it's just
a , "whatever we damn well feel like" line for Hasbro.

Isn't it strange though that we've seen reviews for Thundercracker and Blackout from the factories, so that must mean they're already made, no?
They don't have the metallic paint apps that the Japanese line has either... so maybe we'll get one last Voyager wave from them?

I was able to see Blackout in person courtesy of a local board member who got one from overseas. I don't think they would have gone through this much of an effort not to bring it to the masses (unless it is just Takara who releases it), so I wouldn't be overly concerned. They may be all exclusives which will be a pain, or as others have stated, be part of this hodge-podge line since retailers like Target seem to be clearancing out the animated Voyagers (atleast in my area).

BTW Blackout looks awesome in person.

Well I think Hasbro damn well feels like making some money off those figures that they paid all those development costs on. And thus, Generations will most likely pick up the slack.

I do really hope to see that Rodimus someday. (And Arcee, she certainly wasn't at my TRU today...)

My thoughts exactly. Even if they scrap the Animated packaging, More than likely Hasbro will just lump Hot Rod, Thundercracker etc. in with Generations & that'd be perfectly ok with me. :)
