wal mart. I display my stuff on bookcases
Two are bookcases I bought- probably at Target while they were running some ultra-cheap special, like $29.99 bookcases. The bookcases hold my BTs/ Alts, as well as some other odds and ends like recent figures, Collector's Editions, the LOCs, and stuff I've recently played with. Large TFs are displayed on top of a closet that seems as if it was added into the house at some point, as the closet doesn't go all the way to the ceiling- there's about a 3 foot gap between the top of the closet and the ceiling, making for great display space for Brave Max, Planetformers, and other 'Supreme Class' figures. Then there's three long shelves that I bought the supplies for at Home Depot and mounted myself, which is where most of the smaller ones are. Of, and I have the 10 SWTFs arranged in package on nails in an upside-down pyramid on the back outside wall of the aforementioned closet.
That was probably more info than you needed, but I felt like sharing.
I have also been a big fan of the Target bookcases. I have three of the 6 shelf variety and 1 of the 4 shelf style. Very cheap but sturdy. I just moved in to a new house and hope to add several more soon. For the first time ever I'll have pretty much my whole collection up.
Ikea and be sure to get some Swedish Meatballs for lunch while you're there!
I have the one on the right, but the one on the left is great as well.
And these floating shelves are cool too (only $12.99 each).
Display case? WTF is that? Come on, I'm lucky if I can find "shelf" space on my entertainment center in my bedroom, much less a DISPLAY CASE (or even SHELF) for the rest of my collection.
DETOLF glass door cabinet from ikea
I have the 79.5 " by 31 " Billy Bookcase from IKEA with glass doors. It's awesome! Tall enough and wide enough to display everything I need it to. Hell, my entire gameroom is decked out in various shapes and sizes of Billy bookcases, it looks boss.
Just got 3 of those myself.
Still need to get wall shelves, though....
Detolf case, this is in my living/dining room. I'm probably going to have to get a bigger case for my Alts, since the DETOLF is pretty small and doesn't hold a whole lot.
Here's another cabinet from Ikea, I believe it's called a SKOGEN.
and only 20 bucks more than the DETOLF.
It's much wider and would work great for ALT's (I may have to get another one for my TF's)
It's almost funny how practically everyone uses Detolf cases now. They're not perfect though. Too deep and non-adjustable shelves. Somebody needs to make proper display cabinets. Like Ikea Billy, only with glass walls and doors (there's too much wood on the standard glass doors. And with adjustable middle shelf too...
Menards garage shelf units for me. Cheap, open, and easy to re-arrange.
Ikea Billy bookshelves with glass doors...
My shelfs are from Ikea, my one shelf unit (3 wall shelfs connected as 1 unit) was made by my Uncle, and my 2 bookcases... I don't know where I got them. Some cheap place like Wal-Mart I think..
Holy crap. Those Detolf units are sweet. I've been looking for something like that...cheap, anyway. I'm poking around on the site and I only see that one though. No chance they come in a wider version (~2x) or a taller one?
Still, may have to pick up a couple...or 12.
anyone have a pic of the Ikea Billy bookcases?
i'm feelin the SKOGEN as well
heres my lil setup until I move into a place with a den
Ive got 4 bookcases from walmart side by side and shelves in what use to be the closet.
Plus there's also buying wood and a table saw and making your own
Actually that's what Im going to be doing now that I have a table saw :
There's another shelf at the very bottom of it but it's filled with books... So sexi shelves total...
